I just checked and you don't need the BootIt key to run list hd 0

Where it asks for you name and key, just press Enter.

The more i was digging into this, the more i remembered how i fixed it before. I just restored a partition image with a functioning RE to the RE partition. And some Disable/Enable in CMD. Voila!

Well, this pc and IFW is faster than before, but not impressivly much. Just slightly. The restore peaked about the same figures that n8chaves had, but the lowest was about 1300 something. Average was about 2100-2200. From first click to visual desktop again toke about 1.25 = 85sec. About half a minute faster than HBS.

Brian K, thank you, as always, for your engagement. Just exchanging thoughts like this frees up knowledge. Thank you.

Nice work. That would have been the best method to get the RE working again.

I have PCIe 3.0 so my speed is way behind you guys. My peak speed is 1600 MBps.

For anyone who needs info on extracting a winre.win from a Windows ISO.

    You need 7-Zip installed in C:\Program Files\7-Zip

right click your win11, win10 iso, open with Windows Explorer
    browse to sources\install.wim or install.esd
right click the file, open with, choose another app, choose an app on your PC, browse to 7-Zip folder and select 7zFM.exe, open, just once
    select Folder 1, click Extract
Change the "Copy to" folder to a folder elsewhere in your computer. eg E:\000
Browse to "E:\000\1\Windows\System32\Recovery\" and copy winre.wim to your desired location. See below.
    close 7 zip

    Admin command prompt
    reagent is disabled
    cd /d C:\Windows\System32\Recovery
    dir
    ren ReAgent.xml ReAgent_backup.xml
attrib -h -s E:\000\winre.wim (this removes hidden and system attributes. Similar to making a Robocopy folder to be "seen")
    copy E:\000\winre.wim C:\Windows\System32\Recovery
    reagentc /enable
    reagentc /info

I'm getting much smaller images with v4.06, and I haven't made any settings changes since upgrading.

    Percentage wise, how much smaller?

On your Backup Options screen of IFW, what is the Compression method?

For those who have deleted their RE partition and don't have a backup. I've seen some methods that resemble using a Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), to open a garage door. This TBOSDT method is quick.

    Code:
    add partition 1 0x80 900 7 RE 0 /a=2048
    set part type 1 0x04 {DE94BBA4-06D1-4D40-A16A-BFD50179D6AC}
    open fs 0: 0 0x01
    open fs 1: 1 0x03
    copy file 0:\Winre.wim 1:\Windows\System32\Recovery /y
    close fs 0:
    close fs 1:
Then run reagentc /enable and Winre.wim will be moved to the new RE partition.

    50-60% smaller.
    Compression: TB - Fastest

    I'll test other computers later.

What compression are you using? One of the ZSTDs?

I'm still using Compression: TB - Fastest. ZSTD made a negligible difference in my computers.

Can you post your finding in the TeraByte Forum?

I'm using /comp:31. The result is a 25% smaller image and faster creation times.

Regarding the above script. I'd imagine people would feel more comfortable doing the procedure manually.

In BootIt UEFI, create a 1000 MiB NTFS partition on the boot disk and change the GUID Partition Type from Normal Data to Microsoft Recovery. Name the partition RE.
I had copied WinRE.wim from another computer to a UFD.
Still in BIU, TeraByte Explorer is used to copy WinRE.wim from the UFD to Windows\System32\Recovery on the boot disk.
    Boot into Windows.
    reagentc /enable

It's getting easier. Use PartWork for Windows. You need a BIU key.

On the boot disk, create a 1000 MiB NTFS partition. Right click the partition, Properties, File System, Microsoft Recovery. On the same window, remove the drive letter. (blank option above A drive. Click OK.
Use Windows Explorer to copy Winre.wim from where you have it to C:\Windows\System32\Recovery.
Or use an admin command window...
    copy E:\000\Winre.wim C:\Windows\System32\Recovery
    reagentc /enable

Hey, with much respect for everyone here, could we maybe separate Terabyte support from this thread? I keep an eye out for product release updates but mostly there's been a lot of ongoing support issues -- which is fantastic, but it can easily bury actual releases, and though I do keep an eye out for issues that might be of interest, it would be handy to have the two separated. Just a thought. (Or, better yet, how about a Terabyte subforum? :D)

As happens so often, we have posted in the wrong thread. Let's leave this one for Product Releases.

No worries Brian! It happens, but it seemed to attract more support issues as time went on... But, I do appreciate your dedication to TB products! I have learned a few things because of it.
