Fake eshops generally do not allow to use PayPal for obvious reasons and also they do not list a physical contact address. Also, entering credit card details on the webpage itself is a dead giveaway. Anyway, with instant EU payments, this problem will go away, cards will be replaced with bank account transfers, where both, sender and receiver have to be verified, in other words accountable.
Not everyone is up the many ways you can get scammed online. Until such day, these scams will continue.
Some people will give away money for mere asking, because they expect the system to work, like my mom, she bought a security door from a stranger, who knocked on her door. Those scammers should not be allowed to exist in the first place, but that is an entirely different problem, easily preventable, but not worth pursuing, because bribes blossom from it.
I understand. I feel it is up those who know what is going on these days to take of family and friends who may not be aware of the criminal activities going on. Although scams are nothing new, today there are more ways than one ever for criminals to fleece people.
