Never seen that before and I don't have it and is this a clean install? You should post in the Beta Forum over at the Webroot Community.

If a new install you could of selected:

If required, click Installation options to:

• Change the installation location.
  
  
• Create a desktop shortcut.
  
  
• Randomize the installed filename. Selecting the option prevents malware from detecting and blocking Webroot's installation file.

 

Some security solutions, more or less, are based on signature detections. Some does sent an unknown file to online "sandbox" for analysis.
I'm testing G Data and its, BEAST and DeepRay. Disable G Data both engines(Bitdefender and their own "closecap" engines) Download the latest virussign stuff and then disable internet connection Let the BEAST and DeepRay do the work.
The Mighty BEAST fails a lot, because it does a alot of filecloud lookups. But im impressed how DeepRay prevented a lot of malware samples. One got thru, one formbook variant, where G Data warns, everytime i start a chome browsers it said browser memory injection!
Many ppl bash webroot, but does have the best identity shield of any av.

 

Webroot Identity Shield is incredibly important. It is one of the modules that allows it—rather than treating a process or file as Good unless and until determined to be Bad—to distrust literally ANY process or file that it has not seen before, and to continue to distrust it until such time that it can definitively determine whether it is Bad or Good—all this at the same time as entirely protecting the user's device against the harmful effects of any malicious activity arising from said process or file.

Personally, I love this approach, which is why I use Webroot. I should add that since using Webroot, I have never knowingly been infected.

Sorry, for the delay in replying, but I had a recent health issue.

But, I have checked and that "ZThdNeOp.sys" file has become a phantom.

It is is nowhere to found.

 

Ask in the Beta group or contact Webroot Support.

 

I don't think that is necessary. I should think Webroot would monitor this topic and the posts that are made, here.

Anyway, this shows how I got to discover the discrepancy in the first place.

 

They don't only a few of us users.

 

They should, because they might learn something. Nothing is happening with their Beta testing, at the moment, anyhow.....I should be sleeping, right now.

 

You sound as if you're getting a bit disillusioned with Webroot, @Tarnak (?).

Not quite sure how that saying relates to my question, but I'm glad I was wrong and you are not disillusioned.

 

If there are any Beta Testers Webroot is now testing Webroot Total Protection I can't share much but if your in the Webroot Beta group all the info will be in there and I will just share the new UI. The Allstate protection is for the US users at this time.

After viewing your post I purchased Webroot to check out the new gui, but it looks the same as when I used it years ago. I was hoping to see something new with Webroot.

 

It's being Beta Tested at the Webroot Community and you have to be in it's Closed Beta Group. Now it is for sale for US users only features like the Allstate Identity Protection. https://www.webroot.com/us/en/home/products/total-protection

Now WSA remains the same unless you buy WTP (Webroot Total Protection) which has the new UI. Nothing has been said about the new UI for all Webroot SecureAnywhere Products.
