I looked at Gemini settings in Android. It can scan text and images directly from the screen and respond when screen lock is applied. It is much like a Windows Recall... Turned off, thanks stapp.
Settings app -> search for Gemini -> Gemini Settings (wrench icon labelled "Others" on top) After one additional tap you will enter "Digital assistant app" with "Analyze on-screen text" option. Note: stapp article has some additional link to Gemini website, but I had problems with using it on phone. Android version 15, One UI version 7.0 (Samsung S22)
A bit more info about this which comes into affect today. https://arstechnica.com/security/20...roid-will-let-gemini-access-third-party-apps/
Most of the links were not helpful, because somehow I had this turned off. I don't know if it is because I had turned off Web & App Activity years ago. Anyway I believe only this link helped me to check if my account has this turned on or off yesterday https://gemini.google.com/u/1/apps https://myactivity.google.com/product/gemini?utm_source=help Above is for control over storing Gemini data by Google (kind of as data will be stored for 72 hours anyway). I suggest to disable Gemini access to your screen on your phone in the Settings as described by me in previous posts. Edit: I checked on laptop, and it wasn't that link. I put strikethrought on wronge one and provided the link that worked for me
