    @SirShane ,

I downloaded and ran the test version today. It was amazingly fast at scanning and compacting the Chrome and Edge browser databases. Size was reduced from 31 MB to 14 MB in a matter of seconds.

I also like being able to use my Windows system light colors. These are wonderful enhancements.

    Have a great day.

    Regards,
    Phil

    v2.7.0 Released! – July 3rd, 2025
Massive amount of code changes and improvements over the entire program.

Help file added to the program. Both online and offline. Can be accessed through the title bar menu.

Updated the progress information that is shown when running a scan and cleaning. Now shows what item it is currently on as well as showing a time elapsed during scanning and cleaning.

New pro feature, Compact Browser Databases.

This tool will scan known browser storage locations for every single database file used, show the min amount of drive space saved, but also can help make the browsers faster by having the databases smaller and not using wasted space.

New feature, you can right click on any item in the cleaning list and view its cleaning rules.

New default colors for the program. Users who update can go to colors and choose Default from the color preset drop down list to set the new colors.

    Improved Firefox Cache cleaning.

Fixed bug with “Other User Profiles” feature if a user’s profile folder was different than their username.

Improved “Other User Profiles” feature to now detect the apps to clean from the other user profiles if enabled.

Added new preview control to Find Duplicate Files tools. Clicking on a file in the results will now show a preview if supported on the system.

Title bar updated to now change colors when it loses focus when opening another window in the program, making it easier to see which window has focus.

Main program window can now be resized smaller than before and now shrinks itself if too large to fit on the screen. This is for people with lower resolutions and dpi set above 100%

Removed over 450 games from the cleaner, kept a few popular ones and all game launchers. Most of the games where old and not played. Now the list of possible things to clean went from 2370 to 1904. This also helps speed up the startup of the program as it won’t have to detect them.

    Improved detection rules.

Updated the programs title bar buttons to be more like Windows 10/11.

Added new menu icon to the title bar to include a menu for quicker access to other areas in the program.

Added drop down on scan again button to go back to home screen.

    Multiple UI changes.

I opened the program, and it has reverted to free version. Doesn't remember that I have the paid version.

No problem here, mine is still registered.
Was it after a system restart or just opening and closing the program?

I had the test version installed, and I wondered why it didn't open as registered.

So, went to the website and downloaded the latest portable version and replaced the exe as follows. But, that left it as the free version. I had to re-enter my license key, then restart.

Now, I am back to the registered version.

    Windows Security strikes again.
    booo.jpg

    Edit: This is Windows 11
Edit 2: Despite getting this message I ran the program and it seems to be up to date and works correctly. Had this been an actual threat it apparently would not have been stopped. It's Microsoft's fail either way.

Just tested on a 32 bit machine and can confirm that the updates are working correctly on Windows 7 where previously the update wouldn't finish. :thumb:

Great update. Thank you, Shane. No issue here downloading or using it. Really like the right-click "View Cleaning" rules option.

I haven't had a chance yet to read the Help file, but that is a enhancement that was badly needed.

    Have a great day.

    Phil

Microsoft does the false positive every single time I make a exe. Its a pain.
Basically every update I have to submit it to them to remove the false positive. Its always with their cloud definitions, so thankfully it only takes a few hours for them to remove it.

I'm so happy to be done with this update. Now I feel like the program is good enough to make a good first impression with new users vs the older builds.

I have a ton of things to catch up with in my home life because I was working every single day for weeks on this lol.
But after I get caught up on things I am going to start trying to get the program more known.

FYI I hate writing help files lol But I think I did ok with it, made it online and and offline help file with it. So expect changes to the help file as I get feedback on my bad writing and how to improve the help :)

Regarding the Help file, I downloaded a section, i.e. "Getting Started" to save as a PDF file, but when I try to open with Sumatra it then reverts back to the online location. As to the offline version when I click on that, nothing happens.

There should be a help folder now in the folder with the exe. And in that help folder should be SirCleaner.chm.
    That's the offline help file.
    Online help is at https://sircleaner.sirsoft.io

Also Windows security blocks chm files from being opened from network paths.
I just realized I need to see if the chm is being blocked. You can right click on it, go to properties and see if an unblock button is there.

I need to update my exe to auto unblock the hell file. I will do that now and upload the change, but not doing a new version since its a small change.

I don't have the offline help file in the folder. Maybe, it is because I run the portable version.

I double checked and the help folder is in the zip. Maybe I forgot it last night lol but since I just updated the exe with that small change and reuploaded the files I know its in there now.

OK, thanks I'll check it out later. I just woke a short time ago, but I still need some more shut-eye.

You have the setting enabled to show all 1904 items whether they're detected on the system or not.
You have 401 item selected You only have application selected.
You need to right click and choose check everything or use the default preset up above

The screenshot says you only have 401 items selected, which is the number for applications. Scroll down the list and see that the rest isnt checked.

Go to settings and take off the check on the first checkbox and restart the program. That will keep it from showing all 1904 items.

I really like the new display options. Scanning and cleaning is much quicker on my machine.

    Great work, Shane! :thumb:

There is a minor problem with v2.7.0 which I didn't notice on the previous version.
If I click on the down arrow beside "Scan Again" to go back to the Home Screen, the program flashes, and I have to wait for the program to reload before I can click on "Go Back To Home Screen".

Any chance you can get a video of it doing it?
I just tried and its working fine for me. When you click the down arrow it is just opening a menu.
I havent touched that code since I added it.
So im curious what it might be, but I need to be able to see it, because the only way I can fix something is if I can replicate it.
Curious if there is a combination of things needed to replicate it. Like certain actions or settings, what is your screen dpi set to?
