You said you don't use a UFD. Do you use BootWim or something else?

So how do you restore then? I mean, you can't do hot restores within Windows. You have to have some sort of restore disc.

    I usually copy this folder...

C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\tbwinre

...to somewhere in the D: drive. Root is easy. Makes the batch file shorter.

Still confused. You said you never built tbwinre, yet you have backup wims, and you do restores yet you never built tbwinre. On the off chance your using a wim you didn't build, where did you get it from? I'm just trying to make sense of wtf is going on.

Also, wouldn't just adding a bcd entry be easier?

I prefer it on the root of D: drive, but a couple of computers wouldn't work there, so I had to use the root of C: drive. But still working well.

I went to do a Full Backup with IFW. However, I got this warning which I had never seen before:

    IFW_warning on startup_01.JPG

    IFW_warning on startup_02.JPG

Edit: Added 2nd image, which shows the folder is off and greyed out.

Do you use BootWim solely for restores?
IFW in Windows is easier for backups. But it's ok to use BootWim for backups if you feel like it. I use IFL for backups occasionally. If I feel like it. But IFL is my favourite for restores. I initiate IFL restores from a Windows script so I don't have to click through an IFL GUI menu.

When we are reporting backup and restore times we should take into account the time taken to click through the GUI menu and also the reboot time if you are performing a cold backup/restore. The reboot time is from when you leave Windows until you return to Windows. That's my opinion anyway.
Cold backups aren't done often now.

Tarnak, I haven't seen that warning either. Check your Protected Folders status.

I have added a 2nd image explains more, hopefully. I have been trialing ESET anti-virus, and it has ended. So, that might be why I am seeing this message for the first time.

I think so. I tried it once, for a short while.

Are you referring to post where I mention ESET, as the possible cause of seeing the warning message?

USB HD should be ok. Restart the computer and try the backup again.
