firefox do not need a stupid add-on from any kind of antivirus. the main parts of most antivirus interfere a lot though enough.
most of such extensions are linked in registry. maybe a firefox policy can disable this futile piece. gpo is above linking.

Firefox 140 no longer supports WD anti-exploit override:

"Validate handle usage" set to off.

If set to ON the browser will crash.

A question about Firefox snap version (for Linux).

Often, a new Firefox snap version is available as soon as, or not long after a new Firefox version or update is published.
However, sometimes it is not, without any apparent reason.

Currently, Firefox snap 140.0 is not yet available.

Does anyone know where to find information on why a Firefox snap update is late?

I know about the pages below, but these offer no information on why a Firefox snap update is late:

    https://github.com/canonical/firefox-snap/actions

I'm not sure as I don't use snap, but maybe it is similar as with Fedora. There it sometimes takes a long time for an update to show up on Bodhi: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/?packages=firefox
So I was wondering the same thing, sometime a Firefox update shows up the same day or the next, but sometimes it's 3 days or even after the weekend. But you can check the actual build process on Koji: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=37
When it is delayed, you can usually see several failed builds first.

    Thank you, BoerenkoolMetWorst,

Before snap was used for Ubuntu and flavors, it took quite some time for Firefox updates to be available.
But often the snap versions are available as soon as, or not long after a new Firefox version or update is published. I like that.

I guess the reason for a snap update being late can be found in the Firefox snap commits or actions pages, but I'm not sure how to interpret. I think all current actions show "Update snapcrasft.yaml with the new version" failed, but for unknown reason.

As Firefox snap version updates are usually available quickly, I'm surprised that no Firefox snap users seem to report if snap updates are late. I would expect to find posts about that somewhere. But perhaps other users are more relaxed and less prone to OCD.

The Firefox snap commits page now shows "Bump version to the latest release candidate (140.0.1-1)."
    https://github.com/canonical/firefox-snap/commits

On the Snapcraft Firefox page, the release overview now shows a candidate 140.0.1.
    https://snapcraft.io/firefox

The Firefox release notes indicate a version 140.0.1 is coming.
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/140.0.1/releasenotes/

I guess 140.0.1 will be released later today.

They were probably holding off to wait for this one. No reason to publish one with a known issue when the next one is coming.

    Yes, that is most likely.
The schedule update info for 140 (thanks, JRViejo) and the release notes for 140.0.1 show what was going on.

    Regarding Firefox 140, it's OK.
On my two systems, the Firefox Address Bar Refresh 2025 changes that were announced earlier have now been implemented.
    https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/address-bar/
I disabled three changes in Firefox Settings / Search (I disabled "Show search terms in the address bar on results pages," "Quick Actions," and "Actions").
    I disabled "HTTPS trim" (about:config browser.urlbar.trimURLs --> false).
And even though the new "Unified search button" isn't that bad, I liked the previous better, so I disabled Unified search button (about:config browser.urlbar.scotchBonnet.enableOverride --> false).
