Straight to your post https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/issues/3183#issuecomment-2885854594
I think it is indecent how late the AG team is updating the MV3 adblock. https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/issues/3218 It would take more frequent updates, not an explanation. I would also be curious to know why in ABP it is possible not only to insert, when the syntax of the rules is compatible, custom filter lists, but also to make the 'filter list update in real time. Pity the lack of many features, for example few filter lists that I am interested in FilterLists,or the quite different rule syntax even compared to uBlock Origin.
I had not noticed this post of yours. Yes this filter list is needed for any user who will use any MV3 adblock in Edge other than uBlock Origin Lite. Kongo (MT) who uses Ghostery with Firefox had to add this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/port-authority/ that does the same job as uBlock Origin's filter list
I gave up on AG MV3 and went back to its MV2 extension and suddenly all the problems are gone. I will definitely keep MV2 as long as it works in browsers.
AdGuard Browser Extension v5.1: Syncing updates for our MV2 and MV3 extensions May 20, 2025 https://adguard.com/en/blog/adguard-browser-extension-v5-1.html https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/releases/tag/v5.1.88
Someone may have noticed that since v.5.1.94 the dynamic rules have been increased to 30000. This change is very important for custom filters, which we hope will be available again soon.
It seems that the “Online Malicious URL Blocklist” filter list is updated in a better way. The AG version released today 109 shows the date of June 20. I did some testing with online https malicious links and it seems to be useful. Considering that the most recent malwares are mostly http.
Github malware blocking rules are much more efficient and cover all cases (that have occurred so far): Code: ||github.com/*/*.exe$document ||github.com/*/*.zip$document ||github.com/*/*.7z$document ||raw.githubusercontent.com/*/*.zip$document ||raw.githubusercontent.com/*/*.exe$document ||raw.githubusercontent.com/*/*.7z$document
AG Browser Extension v.114 was released today. Version 113 was released on 28 June. Usually the "Online Malicious URL Blocklist" is a day behind. If new versions of the extension will also be available in the future with this short time frame,it is probably worth subscribing to the above-mentioned filter list.
With the new AG 5.2.25 beta version: https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/releases ,Custom filters are restored and block alerts are improved in case of security and rules $document. I will insert 2 examples of the blocking page: Very interesting.
I have decided which custom filter lists to subscribe to when v.5.2 is stable: Block Outsider Intrusion into LAN Actually Legitimate URL Shortener Tool ClearURLs for uBo (unofficial) I am undecided whether to also subscribe to: EU US ads&tracking networks MV3 (third-party blocking only) who no longer uses Kees1958 (but uses that list of filters his wife).
Out AdGuard Browser Extension 5.2.77: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/adguard-adblocker/bgnkhhnnamicmpeenaelnjfhikgbkllg Most important updates: The time for temporary exceptions has been reduced from 40' to 10'': https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/issues/3260 Restoring custom filters I have added this list of filters: https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/issues/3183 + 2 additional filter lists.
thats what i have waited for. thank you for this information, as 5.2 beta pointed it out. damn, my lists are gone, i need to re-enter them.
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardBrowserExtension/issues/3316 It is better to use Custom filter lists with a low update frequency.
AdGuard Browser Extension 5.2.77, Release date: September 22, 2025 https://adguard.com/en/versions/browser-extension/release.html#version-5277
The Github rules no longer work. To restore the block, you need to add the modifier “important.” If you want to test it: https://urlhaus.abuse.ch/url/3629909/
