What is the MR latest version that can be considered as 8.1 . Because I see versions like 10.0.8313 to 10.0.8447 (post 11095 above). and 8.1.8325 (post right above).
Pushing this nonsense with FREE versions I can understand but in PAID versions of their software is unethical, which the scummy Macrium developers used to stick a massive banner ad into the actual software, so I'll never recommend anyone pay them a single penny and either use alternative software or use other methods etc.

Note in passing: Link to the last free x64 v8.1 release: Code: hxxps[:]//download.macrium.com/reflect/v8/v8.1.NNNN/reflect_home_setup_x64.exe Perhaps mentioned long ago, the previous v8 generic link seems to have not been updated passed 8.0.7783: Code: https://updates.macrium.com/Reflect/v8/getmsi.asp?edition=0&type=4&arch=1&redirect=Y HTH
I downloaded from your link. But when I ran the installer, it identified itself as version 8.0.7783 64 bit) free. They must have switched something around.
Last Free Edition x64 is 8.0.7783 --> https://updates.macrium.com/Reflect/v8/getmsi.asp?edition=0&type=4&arch=1&redirect=Y Last v8 Paid Home Edition x64 is 8.1.8325 --> https://updates.macrium.com/Reflect/v8/getmsi.asp?edition=0&type=0&arch=1&redirect=Y
I am using V.8.1.8110 and thinking about reinstalling Win 11. If I do will I be able to download V. 8 to reinstall on my fresh Win 11? I have my license number. Also if so where would I find a safe download? TIA
@Rainwalker - If you're reinstalling on the same System, you can follow the KnowledgeBase article HERE at Step #1. If you're reinstalling on a different System, you should use REFLECT's "Help/Remove License" function in your existing System before doing the above reinstall.

Hello @Rainwalker: An equivalent alternative, high integrity download, is also available at: Code: https[:]//download.macrium.com/reflect/v8/v8.1.8325/reflect_home_setup_x64.exe HTH Is this the edition and version you are interested in?
Thanks 1PW....I don't think that link will get me to where I need to be. Kinda thinking no such link exists. I think that link will revert to their newest X versions. Something I want to avoid. I will look more closely in a day or two.
Hello @Rainwalker: Would going back to the very last free version be unworkable for you? Code: https[:]//download.macrium.com/reflect/v8/v8.0.7783/reflect_setup_free_x64.exe HTH
No because there are too many limitations. I have gotten a link to what I need since our last conversation, but thank you.
I am using Version 8.1.8325 Annual Home Plan that is coming up for renewal. The annual renewal price at A$172.92 appears to be quite steep. I know that as part of the subscription there was an option to upgrade to X by handing in the life-time license (without further upgrades) of 8.1. Given some comments on this thread re X, I did not move to X, so I am wondering what I should do now. I do not need to do constant rebuilds in a flash, so a small time improvement is irrelevant for me. I want my backup program to just work in case of an emergency. I also have a license for Image for Windows and use Hasleo. Is there any good reason to renew my subscription other than supporting Macrium Software? If I don't renew, am I right in assuming Version 8.1 will continue to work for now until some future changes in windows break it?
If you have a license for image for Windows just use that. It's a superior product anyway. I cannot think of a single way a properly configured IFW is worse that Macrium 8/X. Save yourself some cash and just use IFW.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to rent disk imaging software and unlike what Macrium, Acronis and their loyal mouth pieces say. You rarely have to update these types of software as they just work, so save your money and ******* to supporting any company as no company whatsoever is worth supporting. My daily disk imaging software is a 2016 version of Drive Snapshot and I'll never pay again to "support" the developer as that version works perfectly on every single computer that I run it on.
I've never understood the fascination for speed. That's one of the big selling points of Relfect X. That and a smaller files size. But storage is cheap. And you can still use your computer while it's backing up. So, I never put a stopwatch on my backups.
The only thing needed for such software is to support UEFI / GPT, which they all did that years ago and to fix actual bugs (especially to really support newer versions of Windows). All these companies do is basically tamper with interfaces, add features and other PR gimmicks like the current ransomware offerings from Macrium and Acronis with their threat of "pay us a fee each year or we'll cripple the installed software", which utterly disgusts me and I'm glad you can circumvent such shady business practices as ransomware shouldn't be rewarded.
