Today, we're gonna do fun stuff! Presenting, a happy, enthusiastic article showcasing an SSD upgrade on a 10-year-old Lenovo G50 laptop with i3 processor, integrated graphics and 8 GB of RAM, including overview of the existing eight-boot setup on HDD, numerous ergonomic and functional reasons for the operating system choice - Kubuntu 24.04, first installation on mechanical storage for comparison purposes, second installation on SSD with encryption, various problems and annoyances with the Calamares wizard, new Plasma session look and feel, reuse of data and browser profile, associated bugs and issues with the Firefox snap, overall performance and responsiveness, new boot times, Samba connectivity latency and usability, software usage, other observations, and more. Enjoy!

Thanks for this very very interesting article! Main result of reading it is that, when & if I ever I switch OS, it will most certainly be to Kubuntu.
