    Hello @takiabtom,

    just tested and it works.
    Just make sure that you have the PRO version because the erasure of Shellbags is only available for contributors.


    I deleted one folder containing a subfolder to test.
    I verified that Shellbags (the one of the folder and the one for the subfolder) were listed in Shellbag Analyzer & Cleaner.

    After secure deletion of the folder with PrivaZer, both Shellbags were removed
    , as you can see on this screenshot,
    (and they were no longer listed in Shellbag Analyzer & Cleaner) :

    Ok thanks
    I have been PRO for years
    It does not seem to work for me, what am i doing wrong or not understanding
    i also created a directory 'test' with a sub folder 'sub1 with a sub folder 'sub2' which contained one file
    I selected directory 'sub1' for delete without trace and it was deleted with 'sub2' and the file.
    I then ran Shellbag analyzer which tells me the there are traces of the deleted directories.
    In other words Privazer did not delete without trace

    Can you uncheck the 2 "close when completed" checkboxes
    and verify that you have some Shellbags cleaned on this line :

    I have repeated the same test, Before doing so I went into the setup options and ensured shellbag cleaning was set to all and saved it.
    The repeated clean appeared to delete 1 folder, 1 sub folder and 1 file as required and there were shellbags removed also but more than expected.
    Subsequent running of the analyzer still shows a trace of the directory selected but this time the subdirectory has gone o_O??

    The problem will be fixed in the next release.

    The problem was caused by Windows Explorer recreating the Shellbags after cleanup.
    Please test the new v4.0.97 just released, it has a fix for that.

    + Improved speed
    + Improved UI
    + Fixed issues : PrivaZer does not start

    Thankyou for your prompt correction

    Whilst here may I also pass another observation....It does seem rather perverse for a Privacy Cleaner to be keeping history of tasks in progress that have completed and associated messages. I realise they have a role to inform when a task is undertaken and that the history is cleared on closure of Privazer but surely a set-up option to stop the history being retained during a session would enhance Privacy.

    Yes, we can add an option.
    Some would like to save the complete history and others would like to have no history at all.
    An option for that is a good idea.

    Guidance please. In advanced setup there is an option to change Privazer performance.....background or boost. I am not sure where or how this is used,
    However, I am forever having to change priority as on screen it is displayed as Max (although I cannot decide if the tickbox is completed or not).
    My search for a setup default priority has not been a success, is there one lurking somewhere that I have missed? If not can we have one please?

    Is there an issue?

    I get an error window, after a successful scan of any kind, when I click on the 'clean' - or when I've clicked the tick box to start cleaning after the scan. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, using the run without installing anything option, and running after installing as portable.
    Have sent the diagnostics 'bug report' on each error. Same with either .97 or .98 version. 'Restart' option or 'continue' options do not do anything.'Run as admin' and/or using 'Compatibility options in 'properties' doesn't do any better.

    yes, there is a bug in v4.0.97 that may prevent you from downloading updates,
    so the solution is to download it directly from our website here :
    https://privazer.com/download-pro.php

    This issue is fixed in v4.0.98

    @kronckew,
    I see your bug report.
    It has to do with your system, probably a dll not working correctly.
    To repair it, click on "Restore+repair" in PrivaZer, then "Repair" and check the first 2 options like here :

    Reinstalled, selected repair & the 2 options, it completed. ran scan. Same error window. new diag report sent to you.:(

    I have the same in a Windows XP SP3 VM. :(
    A bug report has been sent already (before I saw this post).

    No issues in Windows 7, 10 and 11 VM's.

    Having the same issue as @kronckew...Ver. 4.0.96 worked perfectly...Tried to send bug report with 4.0.97 but said there was error..Tried V 4.0.98 and same thing...would only go so far as to find MFT files and then pop-up saying error..This is on Win XP --SP3 --32 bit machine..

    This is on contributor package.

    Was able to post bug report!!
