Enable Boot from CDROM-I can't find it.

I am in the bios of this pc...don't know what kind it is either...from what I could gather its AMD...dunnoo

I used Eraser Boot N Nuke to wipe out the hard drive. I am trying to reinstall Windows but I keep getting an error message telling me "disk boot failure, insert system disk". It will boot from floppy but not cd rom...AND I CAN'T FIND THE OPTION IN THE BIOS TO ENABLE IT.
I thought I did this the other day, but obviously I didn't.
I don't know what a lot of these 3 letter words are in the bios so I'm not sure if I've enable it or disabled it or if the option is even here.
I would really appreciate anyones help!

    Thanks for any help!

I'm all good...I hope....I was reading another thread and someone gave a link to this page "How to install or upgrade to Windows XP".

The pc I'm working on has no option for booting from cdrom. I have to put the restore on floppy which microsoft offers.

I have to "erase" some floppies then I'll be on my way.

    Thanks,
    Lori

Continue to hit F8 key during PC boot to access the BIOS. There should be a section that will allow the user to change the boot order. Change the boot order so that the CD ROM is 1st. Save and reboot. DO NOT alter any other settings in the BIOS!

clicking del. puts me in bios on this pc, f8 does nothing...
the list for the main screen are

    standard cmos setup
    bios features setup
    chipset features
    power management
    pnp/pci config
    load bios defaults
    laod setup defaults
    interated peripherals
    super password
    user password
    ide hdd auto detection
    save & exit
    exit w/o saving

i have no idea which one to go into to change anything. from what i can see, this thing is set up one way and one way only.

    i finally found it...
    it booted from cd rom
now it's asking me about partion and unpart. space

do i want to set up winxp on the selected item
create a partition in the unpart. space
    or delete the selected partition

    the only item is
    9782 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR}
    Unpartioned space 9782

    which do i pick?

If the HD is blank, then you want to create a new partition using the unpartition space. If there is already a primary partition, then install WXP in that partition. Make sure the partition is at least 2GB in size.

    winxp is installing!

i've had to restart install twice already because my monitor says out of range...15.0 KHz 30 (and an arrow that points down)Hz
i don't know what this means. the computer is still running, but i don't know what it's doing.
