I have a partition which isn't doing anything, and I'd like to merge it with my C:\ OS drive. But I can't figure a way to do this. I am attaching a screen shot with the two drives circled in red. Someone please tell me if this can be done and how to do it. Thanks, Dave
Dave, Can you post a screenshot of Disk Management showing the rectangles and the partition info at the top. You could have to resize a few columns to show the data.
Dave, I don't know what that 14 MiB partition does. It's only 14 MiB and I'd leave it. But if you want to do something... Delete the 14 MiB partition Slide the 1.06 GiB partition to the end of the drive Slide the 1.23 GiB partition up to the 1.06 GiB partition Now you will have 14 MiB of Free Space following the C: drive Resize the C: drive to remove the Free Space I'd do these procedures offline, from Boot Media.
I don't know what you mean "slide" the partitions. I haven't been able to slide any of them. So, how is this done?
I just checked. It's called Move/Resize. After deleting the 14 MiB partition, right click the 1.06 GiB partition, Move/Resize Partition. Make the Free space after zero. 0. Swipe the field and type 0. Press Enter. Press Yes. Do the same for the 1.23 GiB partition.
Whatever you call it, it worked. I had no idea about the zero free space after thing. Still don't know why it works, but it worked just fine as you instructed as you can see from this final screenshot. Thanks very much for your help. BTW, does it work in reverse, if I ever want to create another partition for some reason?
Good work. If you want to create a partition, resize the C: drive smaller to create Unallocated Free space. Then create a partition from the Free space.
Merge is the term used in my Paragon program. But it worked out just fine doing it your way. My best to you in NSW.
