Is this the backup method that Macrium uses that you have talked about earlier on the forum? Does it also make restores faster?
I believe this is the new faster compression method. On my system from SSD to SSD it imaged is 26 seconds and did a successful delta restore in 22 seconds. Version 4.9.3 imaged SSD to SDD in 1:15 and a delta restore took 49 seconds. Obviously, those times will not be as fast going to or from an HDD, but it's still damn impressive. Is HBS perfect? No. There's still things I'd like to see. But its progress is very, very impressive.
Hmm, this was not an answer to my question, if this post was about that. If they have the Macrium method, also, to implement, where will this end?! If not, this is it for now, and indeed impressive.
Gang, see HERE for post from HBS on recent compression change. Basically, for medium compression, same as new Macrium REFLECT algorithms.
So it is that Macrium feature you talked about before and mentioned that HBS might implement, and not another new thing.
Welcome improvement of course. Is there an estimate when a FINAL and new release version might be available?

I Imaged with that TEST RELEASE with my DELL 11 SSD to a non-SSD External Drive (120GB) and even with that resulted in a faster Image. Haven't done a Restore with it yet.
Indeed. And that's equally interestingly impressive. The results posted above with the Test (alpha) version is amazing for a FREE image program.
Just remember, you'll get the best speeds SSD to SSD. When you're restoring an image from a HDD you'll get speeds that aren't really that different than IFW or Reflect 8. The same is true for Reflect X; it's only worth it if you're imaging to or restoring from an SSD.
I don't put a stopwatch on any of my backups and restores as time is not an issue for me. But yes, SSD to SSD backups and restores are much quicker than when a mechanical drive is involved, no matter which backup application that I use.
The point being that all these imaging apps are advertising their speeds, yet sometimes it's irrelevant for most people. That was the main advantage to Reflect X, yet for most there really is no advantage in everyday use.
I agree. That's why I'm sticking with Reflect 8 for the foreseeable future. It's running fine and does what I need. And I don't have recurring costs. I haven't used Reflect X myself, but from all the comments, it's been a lame upgrade. More of an upgrade to get more money. I think Hasleo is going to do well from it.
I just used Hasleo. I was 2 hours into my 1st backup & had 10 hours remaing 110GB. I said ***** that. Uninstalled. Didn't like Macrium don't remember why. I'm going to try Amoei Backerupper next.
V5.0 Beta has been released https://www.easyuefi.com/backup-software/downloads/Hasleo_Backup_Suite_Free_5.0_Beta.exe
It's very good! All Macrium user looking to flee the disaster that is Reflect X need to give this a shot, whilst it's free.
These HBS developers are some of the finest. Already installed the BETA and it's super. I don't know if it's my systems or HBS, but i noticed yet ANOTHER speed increase!
