Regarding Trojans, How much AVG (commercial Version)can be compared to Kaspersky ?

Regarding Viruses, i 'd like 2 ask the same question as well but my main concern is with Trojans. THANKS

KAV's detection is much better than AVG's for both virii and trojans.

Okay  so what about the AntiVir Commercial Edition ? Is it really good with Trojrans and Viruses. I know that the free personal edition does not update incrementally so what about the commercial one ?

KAV's detection is better than the free or commercial AVG for all malware categories ;)

If you like AVG but are wary of trojans, think about running a free/commercial AntiTrojan program alongside this AV.

I've used both AVG Free and KAV and for sure that KAV can detect malware much much more than AVG does but there's no difference between AVG and KAV when it comes to common (ITW) viruses/worms/trojans or other today's most dangerous malware that we (average users) are likely encounter. IMHO

I've sent so many live-malware I found (not from VX site) that KAV detects but AVG, avast! and other AVs don't. Some of malware are added to database by those AVs but some not, each AV companies have their own policy for what malware they should or should not detect but when it comes to urgent-dangerous malware they don't (or should not) let us down. :)

if you made this topic to determine which one to get, go with KAV, better yet, go with eScan, it has KAV engine and runs really light..... one of the best (top 3)

Thanks 4 pointing out to escan. I always heard about it but didn't got the chance 2 test it. It's time 2 try it now may coz i am thrilled about it using the KAV engine coz i know that KAV's engine being the best one IMHO but some glitches in Kaspersky prevents me from adopting it...

But u said it is one of the TOP3 and of course u meant: KAV & escan so what is the 3rd one ?

You seem to like this AV! Are you referring to the commercial or free version?

In the past I have found the commercial Escan AV to be very heavy on system/memory resources, much more than KAV itself, and this has been commented on by other members here; https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=43085&highlight=Escan

I tried Escan a while back & it was just as heavy as KAV-- TOO heavy for my computer.

Anyhoo -- why take a Mercedes engine & put it in a Yugo? ;)

Ok, i will d/l it tomorrow from my job's PC (where there's DSL :D) and test it back at home on my PC. If i felt it is bloatware then i 'll ditch it at once coz i am 2 sensitive 2 bloatware apps :p

Till that time, i wanna ask: How much strong the Antivirus that comes with ZoneAlarm (ZoneAlarm Pro with antivirus) regarding Trojans and Malware in general (as a first thing) and then viruses ? Looking forward 2 hear opinions about this question from people who tested this program in particular...

PS people, Do u mean by "escan is heavy on PC" the real time module of it ? anyway, as u know guys, the real time module of most AV's are heavy and i myself don't need the real time protection. It's enough 2 do a 1 time full scan + firewall + excellent on demand scanner 4 scanning downloaded files
