Hi I would like to hear how you guys think about this Firewall. http://www.pcinternetpatrol.com I can find more information about it... thanks
I tested it and all it does is compare your files checksums to their database of checksums and based on that allows the program network access. If you have an unknown file you can submit it to them for comparison. I dont see the point in this as you can just download the file from the official site and do the comparison yourself, although some people might find it usefull. In their forums I read that they turn a lot of ports off by default, but at the moment you cannot define this and it seems to be a while before you can. I would stick with a good packet filter before I would use this again.
It is a great idea, but I dont think they should implement a network firewall unless it is fully configurable. It is a bit pricey I must agree.
i have used pcinternet patrol before, but it caused problems with my internet connection, and when an unauthorized program needed net access, the trial didnt let me submit it. the price u mention is too much for such a program. why is it necessary to have a subscription? and is this program rele considered a firewall? i thought it was just supposed to be a supplement
Thats not bad if you order three... what if I only want one? I suppose the way to go is to group up with friends and order three lol...
How much are you ready pay per year for real protection - https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=58577
Real Protection? What are the specs on PCInternetPatrol's packet filter? When I tested it I diddnt even see configuration for the Firewall?
Internet Security Alliance will add working with ports in new generation, meant that you'll be having a graphical interface for managing this process. Currently, the majority of trojan ports is blocked and this setting cannot be changed. It's a good enough decision, for mostly all users.
Thats great I use layers too! Now what about the packet filter on PcInternetPatrol? It have SPI at all?
i purchased this product, am new to computers, and i liked the program application control layer it added, i have nis 2005 and with pc internet patrol added nis passes the firewall leak tests which gave me some reassurance.
