I hate these types of tests as they prove nothing...

 

I honestly didn't know that AV's could protect against fake shops. And seems they are using blacklists, which isn't a good enough method since newly made fake-shops pop up all of the time.

 

Completely agree with you TH...commonsense of the user is the best defence...why bloat AVs/ISs with yet another item that is really not required IMHO.

 

FYI - The highest scoring product, Fake-Shops Detector, is available as a free browser extension for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and all Chromium browsers.

 

Netcraft always had a good reputation. The review confirms it.

 

It should also be noted that this extension wants access to your browsing history and location. It doesn't mean it's spyware, but still.
