It makes some sense on the "kink" or other interruption which might adversely throw off the roll up of the Incremental chain, or merging.

With that said it boils down to confidence in the program. I prefer speed so Incremental's satisfy that main backup plan at the least cost of time. Taking nothing away from Differentials but some user's preferences (myself included). choose to rely on minimal space requirements as well as reduced time when adding to a Full Backup chain.

There's always that minute calculated risk during various options available, features too.
With Hasleo Backup Suite latest version here, so far so good on that front.

It seems to me that 10 seconds or so is not really worth the risk, but you do you.

On an unrelated not. Using the PE version of HBS (included with every installation) can be added to Pstart very easily, which means you can add it to any PE disc you want. So you don't have to use the HBS PE, in case you have a build that has other things on it you want.

In Firefox, I use the SingleFile extension to save the selection on a page, then create a custom knowledge base with an index file. For example, for Macrium, the knowledge base contains 30 pages. Accordingly, it is easy to add pages from other resources or user-created pages to the knowledge base.

@EASTER - I'm sure this is different for each user:) Personally I do INC rollups every 7-DAYS (not "Backups"), a weekly DIFF and a monthly FULL. I retain a minimum of 2-FULLs over time. The 7-DAYS of INCs is due to the fact that I also take many manual INCs during that time period when I'm testing so the # of BACKUPS will be different from week to week but I always want at least 7-DAYs of recent INCs.

Because those partitions are not part of what they call a System Backup (only partitions needed to BOOT your System). If you want them all you need to do a Disk Backup and have them all checked.

Nope, you should be just fine...

Okay, this is big! Thank You @TheRollbackFrog

Courtesy Hasleo Back Suite i finally got settled on procedure with my external drives. I completely cleared everything and Hasleo images/incrementals are stored on the 2TB external, and Aomei Backupper images/incrementals are on the 1Tb Externals. That way it keeps me from competing them or omitting one and not the other. My drives range from 320-500Gb and some 1Terabyte Capacity. I do have 1 Western Digital that sports 750Gb, and my largest external drive is a Western Digital 2TB Capacity Storage.

The biggest challenge (for some of us like me) will be to make use of HBS's feature of intervals. Everyone decides their own personal preferences to the when & how often backups are produced. There's been no flaw in the HBS restores on this end. In fact the One-Time BCD prompt can come in pretty handy depending on how a user wants to implement it.

What do you mean when you say "will be to make use of HBS's feature of intervals"? Is the retention mechanism insufficient?

That's exactly what is being referred. Intervals within the Retention Policy/Feature are absolutely superb.

Personally before i have not even reached that section for a try out so it's a simple minor learning curve. Every good comprehensive imager makes that feature available as you know.

But with Hasleo Backup Suite's research Devs in high gear, and warp speed new releases (Improvements), some of us still have to study the best method which suits preferred plans and meets expectations. :)

I guess I still don't understand the problem. Software is always going to evolve, HBS or anything else. I assume the idea is that you're waiting for a certain plateau to then fully implement HBS. If that's the case, that'll never happen. You'd be best off upgrading when you want and talking at the Hasleo forum, and/or here.

    Thanks
Please remind me what I need to delete to start from scratch creating new recovery media.
I want to use new usb drive. I'm only seeing Step 5 > https://www.easyuefi.com/backup-software/tutorial/create-bootable-winpe-media.html

I really don't understand this. Why use the built-in process, which requires you to erase the usb drive, when you can just use something like ventoy and just throw the iso on there along with anything else you want.

That step offers you a USB select for a new stick. I'm not sure what "starting from scratch" really means:) At any time you can use the Emergency Disk (ED) creation tool to build a new USB if you wish. If you've just installed a new version, and you use the ED tool, it will create, from scratch (and downloads), a new USB as well. If your existing installation has the WinPE code resident (which it probably does if you've built from it before), and you just want to add drivers, then just delete...

    C:\Program Files\Hasleo\Hasleo Backup Suite\bin\WinPE.iso

    ...and run the ED tool.

Exactly what is it you want to do?

Create new recovery media (starting from scratch) from Step 1
I want to use new usb drive. I'm only seeing Step 5
    Okay...I'll try delete \bin\WinPE.iso
I recall my father staring off into space. I'd ask...what are you doing? He'd say..."trying to remember".

    Edit: I renamed \bin\WinPE.iso ... as test

It is not necessary to recreate the bootable flash drive from scratch every time, it is much easier to just update it. You have created a WinPE.iso in a new version of Hasleo (or Macrium). On the flash drive, Ctrl+A > Delete (the boot sector is not affected). Mount WinPE.iso in a virtual drive, Ctrl+A > drag and drop all the contents onto the flash drive. The flash drive is updated, check it out.
The second convenient and functional solution is to use this way of preparing a bootable flash drive, when it will be enough to copy the WinPE.iso file to the flash drive.

v4.9 release seems to work well for me. I backed up my Windows system partitions from the boot menu, and because of a conflict with Linux on my dual-boot laptop, I was able to retore the first System partition with no issues.

Great to hear and know. Working flawless on my systems too as i image them (i already know they will restore just fine) and am doing incremental images regularly now since they complete so quickly for me.

Delta Restore is functioning magnificently. Another PRIME FEATURE, you can even do a MERGE of Incrementals to the saved image while housed in your External Storage, HOWEVER in my attempt the TEMP files swelled until there was no more room left for HASLEO to merge it completed into the main backup image.

So be sure you have ample space available since TEMP file in merge will duplicate the saved image in about the same GB's until complete whereby i assume then those are deleted being no longer needed after MERGE into a single Saved Backup Image. At least this is what i experienced today on my use of that particular FEATURE.

@TheRollbackFrog - Does that sound right to you?

I didn't even know that feature existed, obviously something I missed, until I saw your mention of it. That is an impressive option Hasleo has built into this suite :thumb:

Exactly. Very impressive. So far super dependable too over here. My excitement and satisfaction is only limited by the fact that i currently operate & manage a group of old spindle hard drives running Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 runs exceptional with modern SSDs no problem/ My problem is getting them retrofitted one by one right now with SSD.s. Hasleo Backup Suite is put in place some high-end features like Delta Restore, and where i run SSD Chip Drives it's seconds versus way much longer for the antiquated HDD.s.
