I use it, and I love it. It's totally configurable, skinnable, easy to use yet has some great extra options. I ended up buying it just a few days after trialing it. One of the really great features is that you can strip out any malicious HTML code by toggling the "sanitize HTML" and "download images" buttons (just make sure to do this before you load up any email.) It also has pretty decent spam filtering and does not use IE to view HTML (it uses it's own browser.)

Read the manual too (although not excellent) and if you don't understand something you can search or ask it at the forum.

Not only that, because you can use an Event OnDisplay to secure certain mailboxes like IN, Junk & Trash or the one you choose.

I've used PocoMail for several years.

Pro:
Has always been tops for anti-malware security. Is a good choice for the person who enjoys tinkering: it has a scripting language, Bayesian spam filter, typing shortcuts.

Con:
Reliability is not the best; newbies especially need a foolproof, extra-Poco backup strategy; old hands rarely have a problem. Anyone accustomed to filters with regular expressions should note that Poco's filters don't have regex.

 

Why would you say that? I never experienced any problem concerning reliability. Backup is done every 5 sessions (setting by user) and so far never had a problem restoring.

If not available, enter it in Bug Traction as an enhancement request, so Poco Systems Inc. (PSI) knows about it.
When it will be implemented depends on PSI's priority list.
If you don't enter it in BT, PSI will never know about it.

 

Through the years the forum has had periodic reports of catastrophic data loss.

In the first version 3, recently, Backup/Restore destroyed the entire mail store, leaving the user with neither mail nor backup. A few users lost everything. The developer himself backs up using XCOPY.

That wasn't a complaint. Just information.

 

That was only a minority of all the happy users. I once had blank messages, but afterwards found out my spam blocker was the culprit.

Never heard, nor seen it during the beta-tests or first release.

Slaven may backup his data as he chooses to do so. I'm doing the same, as well as using the built-in backup.
