Not sure but it was enough to get me to renew my Object Desktop subscription after a 10 year lapse. Start11 it is. The general recommendation seems to be a replacement Start Menu. Though that may not work in a business environment.

Crazy that we have to resort to such things right?

Everything went fine except for "2024-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5037768". Downloads but fails to install. Error code is 0x8007000D, which may have something to do with a missing file that's needed.

I can't keep up with all the Windows update problems these days; just put it on ignore.

Yep. I searched for a GPO but didn't find anything. If the rest of the office complains I'll keep looking for something.

Keep me posted and I will do the same. Maybe I will splurge on the product you mentioned. Is it working ok for you?

No complaints from me. I am using it set to the Windows 7 Start Menu option. No ads on that.

Nice. Do they have the option to leave it Windows 11 style? I have gotten used to it being in the center of my taskbar lol.

You can align left or center. Not wanting to go too far off topic but I don't think you can post pics in private conversations so...

Thanks Jack. Yes do not want to derail this any further. Thanks for your help. I really wish MS would stop putting all of this nonsense into their operating systems.

KB5037768 failed here also, win 10 home, with error code (0x80070026).
I gave it about 30 minutes then just switched off the computer. The next day about 45 minutes, still no go.
Barring any other solutions, I'm considering using wushowhide to block it.
    Any advice?

No borkage observed on W10 H64 w/ 2 .NET updates and CU KB5037768, all installed manually from Windows Catalog.

Please try downloading it from Windows Catalog and running it manually. Links for direct downloads are in this article:

The update on Tuesday did something good for my W10. The search function using the icon in the taskbar was broken (It didn't find anything that I searched for in the computer). It had been like that for about a month. Now is working again. :)

    KB5037768

Ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter, rebooted, and tried again. Thankfully, this time it installed.

I tried all the suggestions here for KB5037768.
No luck, but thanks to all for the efforts. Finally used wushowhide to stop it.
I had a curious thought. Could Macrium reflect have created a recovery partition that cannot be changed, and that is what is preventing the installation?
This is what disk management looks like here: This is an MBR system.
edit: if this is in the wrong forum, please feel free to move it.

You might try WAU Manager and tick "Force installing updates" in the Advanced settings.

https://www.softpedia.com/get/Syste...utomatic Updates, any results with WAU Manager.
