Try it with another application, OBS does its own checks for this setting.

Hide OBS Studio from screen capture Windows: go to OBS Studio → Settings → General, and check "Hide OBS windows from screen capture".

I was only using OBS Studio to see if screen blocking worked.

There's a need to prevent sandboxed processes from screen capturing host based apps e.g. a password manager running on the host, and there's possibly also a need to protect sandboxed processes from being captured e.g. a password database being run in the sandbox.

It seems that this change doesn't protect from any of those scenarios, but I don't know what it does do

Update Sandboxie-Plus to the latest version.

For IsScreenProtect=y: (some applications may override this setting)
    1. Run unsandboxed OBS.
    2. Run Edge in the sandbox. (or non-console application)
    3. Windows in this sandbox shouldn't appear in the OBS capture.

For IsBlockCapture=y: (OpenWinClass=* setting disables this feature)
    1. Run any screen capture application in the sandbox.
    2. Try recording.
    3. Even if it captures, no content should appear other than a black screen.

Hello there! I just wanted to let everyone here know that I'm no longer having any issues using sandboxie plus and VoodooCyberlock at the same time.

I don't have OBS Studio installed on the host but I was able to test with XNView and Windows print screen on the host and OBS Studio sandboxed and none were able to capture the protected sandbox (firefox).

This appears to work well, I think I had the logic backwards. This protects the sandbox it's applied to, so it's probably worth adding this as a default.

I can't find this setting through the GUI so I added it to the .ini section of the OBS Studio sandbox, but it was still possible to record everything on the host. I also tried adding it to Gimp but it was also able to capture everything on the host.

    Thanks for your help.

Interesting... Even without IsBlockCapture setting, I can only capture open windows with OBS. What settings have you used for OBS?

What do you mean by open windows? Are you saying that sandboxed OBS (with IsBlockCapture) should be able to capture non-sandboxed windows?

I installed OBS into a Standard Sandbox with 'FakeAdminRights=y' so it could install. In OBS I set Sources to Display Capture then started recording. If I open Notepad or Windows Explorer (both outside of a sandbox) during the recording the contents of both are captured.

I was going to write that I can only capture windows when OpenWinClass=* is set. (which is equivalent to having the setting disabled) Also, at least version v1.13.4 must be installed.

That I hadn't realised, but it doesn't seem to make any difference as OBS is still recording everything that happens on the host.

Maybe I'll try a clean install at some point.

We will need to look into OBS, but I think if its capturing from the video RAM directly this may not be easy preventable.

It's possible that it's my setup as GIMP with 'IsBlockCapture=y' can also capture everything (File > Create > Screenshot), and they're the only apps I've tried.

I'll have to set aside some time to do a clean Sandboxie install, although it's never been needed before.

Mr Xanatos, quick question. I saw that adguard for desktop has a thing in sandboxie's templates now. Was that because you saw my signature? Is my signature also why VoodooCyberlock is working so well with sandboxie now?

Have you been testing sandboxie plus running along side security software you see people talking about here?

That was a lot of questions. Keep up the good work.

@GrDukeMalden You didn't by accident use DefenderUI Pro with Cyberlock? Because that would cause problems Dan said.
For me sandboxie plus and CL worked without problems with the "standard sandboxes".

I've never installed or tried to install DefenderUI Pro.

Until one of the more recent updates to sandboxie plus, I would sometimes have issues with CL not blocking things.
