On a preliminary basis I would like to second that observation - with one major exception. though. The whole complex of "auto-updating" seems to be in pretty bad shape still. Sandboxie-Updater in "Global Options" reports that v12.7 is still latest in preview-channel - and even a manually triggered "check-for-updates" from the Help-section reported that no updates could be found - contrary to my individual aptitude of finding one.

Needless to say that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING gets done by the update-section itself IN SPITE OF HAVING CHOSEN "DOWNLOAD&INSTALL" as the default-action from the drop-down-menu governing the behavior of the auto-updater concerning "Incremental-" and "Full-updates(-grades)". I still cannot understand what sense - if any - a dropdown-menu-option would be supposed to make which then turns out to be totally moot/dysfunctional in reality?

Yes, as already described above that's what I tried - but it only said "No new updates found. Your Sbie-plus is up to date"

Unfortunately stumbled into further calamities with v1.12.8. Latest Firefox will crash upon startup 4 out of 5 times. Back to v.1.12.7 now where it would start normally.

Still, this like constitutes some kind of logical "Tribar" - as the internal updater, in particular when set to "Preview-channel", is meant to distribute even the interim-hotfix-versions (like a, b, c etc) which never see the light-of-day at github - so how then can it be BEHIND the main (pre-)-releases published on github without any a, b, c-suffixes? That is a major contradiction and doesn't make sense from which-ever angle one may look at it.

As for the v1.12.8b-hotfix this one seems to do the trick at first glance because (with one exception immediately after the initial install where Firefox didn't crash but wouldn't start up either only resulting in a "busy" tray-icon without any browser-window) Firefox then started normal as expected without any error-messages displayed.

Please let me know if this build is stable, I'll push it to the auto updater probably some time tomorrow if no apparent issues appear.

Also I hope this will be the last 1.12.x build and having a stable base we can proceed to the long announced experimental 1.13.0 build
in the mean time in addition to the reworks to the hooking mechanism I also have a driver change that brings compatibility with Server 2025 / latest canary insider build of Win 11
which comes with again a large rework to the handling of offset dependent data structure manipulations related to the token wizardry of sandboxie.
This change should eliminate the risk of BSOD's on a yet unknown kernel version as well as add the ability to update the relevant compatibility data independently from the driver.

Working well so far - with one major exception.
Oh no, not these auto-updater calamities again! This time around I HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY INFORMED about the new existing version and also been offered an automated update. After downloading then all I got was a pop-up-window telling me that the updater had been downloaded somewhere deep into the weeds of the "Appdata"-subtree - but: no installation! So I ACTIVELY tried to update via the help-menu. Same result. Update-installer was downloaded - BUT NOT INSTALLED.

As a remedy I had to go to "GitHub" again, download from there to my standard download-folder and manually start the updater-exe from there. From then on all went normal but the "auto-"(non-)updater somehow manages to keep puzzling me with a new variant of malfunction each time it "jumps into non-action".:D

    Installed Sandboxie Classic, 5.67.9.

At least the last 2 versions I could not post comments within Yahoo news articles using Firefox when sand boxed.

Firefox worked fine posting comments when not sandboxed.

Message was "comment failed to publish" when Firefox is sandboxed.

Otherwise, the latest version of Classic appears to be working fine overall, just not working with commenting on Yahoo.

Last version 5.67.7 same problem with Yahoo when Firefox is sandboxed.

    Thank you!

I had the exact same issue but using the Plus version. I switched to Brave (also sandboxed) when I got that message one time and it went thru so I assumed it was strictly something with Firefox. Apparently not. It seems OK now. Thanks for the observation.

Thank you plat for letting me know you had same issue. It is still an issue for me using the latest version of Sandboxie Classic 5.67.9. Firefox does not work posting comments in Yahoo when it is running in a sandbox.

Firefox posts comments fine not sandboxed so I figured it was not Firefox problem.

I then tried Edge sandboxed, and it worked fine within Yahoo news and posting comments. So far, just a Firefox issue when sandboxed for me, lastest version 122.01, 122.0 did not post either when sandboxed.

Hmm, after reading what you wrote that it's still a problem for you, I went to Yahoo and picked a random topic and tried to post using just the word "test." Instead of failing to post and retry, my post was outright rejected, citing "inappropriate language." lol! But I tried "check, check" and that posted within Sandboxie/Firefox as expected. No need to try anything else

I wish I knew what the deal was with SBIE on your side. Plus and Classic are supposed to be functionally the same, aren't they? :doubt:

I tried Yahoo commenting, but I'm not sure if it's caused by Sandboxie or not. It may also fail if you try from outside the sandbox. Yahoo probably has some kind of spam/bot protection. Have you tried without clearing the sandbox contents?
