    Problem remains in v121.

In order to solve the problem, this is my workaround:
    1. Install Microsoft Edge Beta
Right now, the stable and beta are in same version (121.0.2277.83)
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/d...ta-channel#version-1210227783-january-25-2024

    2. Check and kill in Task manager any Edge processes which is still running.

    3. From now on, leave alone the stable version and use the beta version instead.

When the beta close, all Edge processes running in the background are closed too.

re: Microsoft Edge migrates the updates experience into Browser Essentials

Wonder if that means Settings...Help and Feedback... About Microsoft Edge, will no longer work?

I don't have that yet even though I am on latest build as of today. Perhaps it will appear later.

To recap, Menu, Settings, About Edge, doesn't open Browser Essentials for me just the page I always got.

One way or another I will always just do the manual update.

Maybe you yourself really know what you want to say, but I, for example, am not able to understand in any way what the meaning or content of this thing is. It would be nice if you could somehow write in such a way that at least the idea could be understood.

    =
1 if the Browser Essentials are enabled in toolbar
2 a new [edge] update is present
3 will appear a sign in the Browser Essentials icon

the "heartbeat" button is removed here, and most of its options locked with GPO.

    It's there:

Settings > Appearance > Cutomize toolbar > Scroll down > Select which buttons show on the toolbar > Browser essentials button

Oh I have the button, just not seeing the update part that was mentioned. I assume this is just not fully rolled out yet for everyone. Thanks!

Version 121.0.2277.112 available from the internal updater.

With the amount of updates they push out it seems like we're all on a beta build.

I'm no Edge fanboy but this certainly isn't unique to Edge or other Chromium forks since their updates follow on Chrome's.

I really wish that they would fix this whole Edge running in the background. Funny enough, at work I do not have this issue but at home I do.

Edge Updates are performed in background if you have not screwed it (and edge is not running). but its similar as for firefox, updates are loaded, but installed when program is finished or manually executed after download in background.

As temporary workaround you can use the beta version.
