The latest update brings notable improvements and fixes to Sandboxie-Plus. Key enhancements include the integration of Date & Time display in the Sbie Messages tab, and a streamlined the box creation process, allowing for more versatile box types. Among the various fixes, issues with sandboxed processes and stability concerns in SandMan-v1.12.3 have been addressed, ensuring a more reliable and efficient user experience. We also announce a change in our update policy: automated update download & installation now requires an active supporter certificate to use the stable channel. Users on the preview channel with all the experimental potentially buggy test builds can still use auto update without a certificate. Users on the stable channel from now on will instead receive a update notification guiding them to our manually download page. Having a bit of problem at the moment on Win 11 pro. I installed build 1. 12. 4 over the top of previous build. but when I close my browsers Vivaldi and Edge, they stay running and I have to force close them.
To add to above, I just did an over the top of 1.12.4 with 1.12.1 No problems with browsers closing and sandboxes emptying. Then I did an over the top of 1.12.1 with 1.12.3 No problems with browsers closing and sandboxes emptying. ThenI did an over the top of 1.12.3 with 1.12.4 Sandboxes will not empty on browser close. Something has changed in this build to cause this.
As you mention this, I would just like to add that I have this experience from time to time (not always but quite often) already with the current version (1.12.3) and with Google Chrome as browser. (Never or almost never with Firefox; about Vivaldi and Edge I cannot tell as I do not use them.) It's no big issue for me as I do not use Google Chrome so much. But perhaps it is of interest for finding out the reason for this behaviour.
Win7x64: Autodelete is not working on my "chrome-based" browsers (chrome, catsxp, vivaldi etc). A glitch somewhere. A temporary fix is to use LingerProcess=chrome.exe, LingerProcess=catsxp.exe etc in sandboxie.ini settings (Box or Global). Autodelete is working ok on my "firefox-based" browsers (firefox, librewolf, mypal etc).
@stapp could you please show the full command line of the hang processes Seams something isn't perfect yet, so I wont announce this build in the auto updater
@DavidXanatos It probably started after the imdisk fix. David, just wanted to report I installed 1.12.4 over 1.12.3 on my Win 7 x64 box and Firefox would not start in encrypted box with immediate access denied. I put the 1.12.3 back in and it started up fine. I would test this more for you, unfortunately I have funeral to attend.
Also with this version no problems deleting sandboxes. Deleting a sandbox (ramdisk) takes 9-10 seconds. Is this normal behaviour? A sandboxed Firefox or Edge…

the issue introduced in 1.12.4 was only affecting instances with "--type=crashpad-handler" and is fixed now the random not closing may be an older issue which soccerfan seams to have @soccerfan could you please try to pinpoint with which build that started?
Sad to say - but this whole auto-update-complex is still a mess. I have an active certificate - and still the the update-page in "General Options" says "1.12.3" as latest version in Preview-channel, the maual check in the help-menu doesn't reveal the new version either and gives no response whatsoever and even IF the update-page would recognize v1.11.5 as the latest version the auto-updater would never kick-in as those drop-down-selections from "Ignore" to "download & install" are still completely inoperable or in other words will always be set to "Ignore" any update found - regardless of the drop-down-setting.
My problem was also for "--type=crashpad-handler", so fixed now. NEW Issue in v1.12.4 and v1.12.5 A program (e.g browser) cannot run in an "encrypted" box or "confidential" box. Error: Start.exe: SBIE2181 "LowLevel.dll detour failed to load SbieDll.dll into target process"
@soccerfan Try the troubleshooting wizard. Sandboxie-Plus > Help > Troubleshooting Wizard > Fix issues with sandboxing > Issues with a web browser > Next > Another > Next > SBIE2181: Failed to load SbieDll.dll > Next ?
Fair enough, however until I installed this build I had never had this issue on Win 11 where Edge browser sometimes auto deletes and then sometimes doesn't. Win10 works fine on 1.12.5.
