Working here, shows 9+ (normal) at the bell, the tab shows the actual number in parenthesis. Using Firefox.

Just wait until they start unsubscribing you from your subscribed channels.

To my surprise I also still haven't seen any ads on YouTube. But I'm wondering if it's perhaps based on your usage and location? I don't use YouTube a lot on my PC, but I do use it a lot on my smart TV, where I get to see lots of ads. Perhaps they take this into consideration.

I hear from some channel authors to check and make sure you are not unsubscribed. There are comments in the video saying they have been unsubscribed. Follow a lot of channels, I'm not buying it. I have to date not been unsubscribed from a single channel I follow.

Gosh, how pleasant. :cautious: No, my videos are still there under the bell. It's just the "number" that alerts you to new uploads that is missing. Did some more searching and no reports of this anomaly OR fixes, so I'm reluctant right now to point fingers. But it would not be a shock if YT is acting mean again. :doubt:

Edit: just installed Chrome and signed into YouTube. I know there was a video I haven't seen yet so the number of videos available should have been over the bell icon. No, no number. I'm almost certain now it's acct-specific. YouTube, you are out to get me. lol, just kidding. sorta. Also tried disabling uBO and refreshing in Brave and Firefox, the number doesn't show up. Not willing to uninstall uBO at the moment though.

I haven't had it happen but I don't believe the ones claiming it are making it up. Probably depends on the content. Most likely channels that have been demonetized anyway. I won't get into details of what those channels are here.

On the Mac using Firefox browser with:
    AdGuard: YouTube gets Blocked
Malwarebytes Browser Guard: YouTube gets Blocked
uBlock Origin: No Block of YouTube.

I use to run all three of the above at the same time for years without any problems. I can't do that anymore because I get blocked on YouTube. Only running uBlock Origin solves the YouTube Block.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/youtube-addon/
it also has an adblocker for yt.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed some broke things with Enhancer for YouTube, it's still blocking ads and works for what I normally use it for. As I mentioned above somewhere I am not seeing any slowness.

Thanks for posting about the suspension by the developer of the extension. I will take a look at "Improve YouTube" I am also looking at another called YouTube Enhancer.

A couple of months ago I replaced Enhancer for YouTube and Simple Sponsor Blocker extensions with three userscripts installed on ViolentMonkey. "YouTube HD", "Resize YT to Windows Size", "Simple Sponser Skipper". This method works better, and any changes made by YouTube are fixed quickly the userscript creator. On the topic of adblocking, YouTube adblocking should be left to adblocking extensions like uBO/AdGuard only.

Well the notifications number over the bell icon in YouTube is back. I had to purge/update the Quick Fixes list in uBO again due to the lovely and beautiful anti-ad blocker notice YT trotted out again. Do I suspect a direct correlation? Yes. Can I prove it? No. But it's nice to see that # again after a week's absence. :)

I accidentally clicked a YouTube link in Kiwi browser on Android, which is based on Chrome but has a built-in ad blocker. Surprisingly, the video played fine with no ads or warnings. (Normally I use NewPipe to watch YT vids on Android.)

It is not on Playstore, since it breaks TOS.

Lost the notifications # over the bell icon again and applied the Quick Fixes update that was waiting in the uBO dashboard. Number is back. Now I'm reassured it wasn't just this machine and some kind of mis-configuration. YouTube is def. getting more sneaky/aggressive. :cautious: What else is next?

Thanks, I'm trying it now to see if it is "ad free". I was able to import my YouTube subscriptions without difficulty.:thumb:

Tried Freetube but had connect issues for API call. Got the spinning circle
on video loads. Sometimes video would play and then cut out. Also tried
changing to different Invidious Instance, but didn't really help much.

NOTE: Current Features - No Ads Enjoy an ad free experience as you watch
