A user volunteered to create some Video Tutorial's for Sandboxie-Plus on Youtube, so I wanted to inquire what topics would be most in demand? General Usage? Advanced Plus Features? Classic to Plus Migration? Something else?
General usage and some advanced features. Pick some of the most requested topics from different people, so the tutorial has the greatest value for everyone.
Basics, basics, basics, first. Until a user gets confident with the software they don't usually move onto more 'complicated' things. Right click options from the tray icon, right click options from the boxes when the interface (GUI) is open. What is sandman. How to make a new box. How to choose whether to 'recover' a download straight away or only recover when the sandbox closes. What do global settings do.
from my view any video tut cannot distribute same information as a detailed website or in the past the (german) pdf tut from subset. scratch the most important features, but let it explained in a complete feature description which is also available as pdf.
Long time user of SBIE here. I abandoned going from Classic to Plus because it seemed too complex. So I would appreciate a 2-part Classic to Plus migration video: Part 1 being just the basics, and Part 2 explaining the advanced features in Plus.
I suppose it depends on the purpose: for new users, experienced users, or maybe experienced users bamboozled by the complexity now available (that's me BTW). But why not, although I would still like a a detailed manual.
1) Classic to Plus Migration 2) General Usage (Go over some of the settings and explain what they do) 3) Advanced Plus Features - Program Control (Start Restrictions) - Network Options (Process Restrictions) - Creating a red box, Snapshots, Auto Delete - Resource Access (Files, Registry, IPC, Wnd, COM) - Various Options (DLLs & Extensions) - Advanced Options (Miscellaneous, Hide Processes) - App Templates (creating a new template using 'Add Template') **Creating a proper sandbox. For example: using Program Control>Start Restrictions>Allow only selected programs to start in the sandbox (Not every program that pops up like RuntimeBroker.exe, identity_helper.exe, etc. needs to be added), ONLY the bare minimum for best protection. Plus disable/uncheck 'Issue message 1308 when a program fails to start' when you have the bare minimum programs you need to work. I know some of these may be too complicated to explain but whatever you can cover will be appreciated.
