That won't work in this particular case, because the video ads are served from YouTube itself...

I haven't yet encountered YouTube preventing me from watching, because I regularly purge and update the lists.
(YT changes the code very often, so the filter needs an update)

For in-video sponsor ads, use SponsorBlock.

At least it can be clicked off at the moment (Firefox, uBO). Must be Friday the 13th or something.

Ironically I've not seen it on Chrome. Probably because of Freevee Skipper!

I just got my first warning today about YouTube ad blockers on Firefox / macOS Catalina. Next time it pops up I'll try to block it with AdGuard.

Well, I got the the Ad Blocker warning again. I also got the pop up about trying out Premium YouTube. I blocked both with Ad Guard. I hope it works and never see them again.

That's what I had been saying but they finally got me this morning. I refuse to watch ads on a channel they demonized, which seems to be entirely too many lately.. To Rumble I go. Or Odysee. Or Bitchute. Too many other options.

I got it today on Brave, that is pretty much the only reason I use it for Youtube, they are getting serious. :(

Still getting the Ad Blocker warning. Cleared the setting on Ad Guard. Now video freezes 1 second after starting, refresh page and get the Ad Block warning. Click the Warning off and videos play. They want us to pay for YouTube without any ads, They can kiss it where the sun don't shine. I'm done with YouTube.

    Still no issue here.
Make sure to purge and update the filters at least once a day.

I'm also using uBlock Origin and Enhancer for YouTube (Firefox). I see no ads. I do not see any ad blocker notifications. I have the same questions. When does the notification happen? On YouTube not logged it, after logging in, when playing a video? I log in with 2FA, could that make a difference? Do not see why it would though, just wondering.

I have notice when using the Android App the ad frequency has slightly increased from in the past. At least they allow a "skip ad" after about 5 seconds (in most cases).

I haven't seen it happen logged out. Only logged in.
It appears that they're tracking user's profiles. At least for now.

Let me give uBlock a try and see if that works with these ads and ad blocker notifications on my Mac with Firefox.

Thankfully it's just an annoyance at the moment. It is becoming irritating however.

I'm hoping the uBO team will manage to block that pop-up/nag screen eventually.

I found that I had Enhancer for Youtube installed and it has an ad blocker that was enabled. When I disabled it the popups stopped. Still using AdGuard.

I've seen a new development (new to me anyway). The 'x' in the upper right corner now has a timer before you can click it off.

I have noticed the timer too, first saw it yesterday. I use Vivaldi with the built in ad and tracker blocker set to "block all ads and trackers" and no other adblocker extensions. I get the YouTube warning on the main YouTube site but not on every video I watch. I use YouTube for watching music videos only, don't really watch much else. One thing I noticed is I do not get the ad blocker popup at all when I use YouTube Music. I don't pay anything for YouTube Music, just the free account. I hope it stays that way.

And yet despite all of the effort they expend trying to force ads on us, they don't get the idea that if they made them entertaining in some way a lot of us wouldn't mind them. Ads should be interesting instead of feeling like a punishment.
