Hi Paul ! I understand this, but what about BOTH ? Imagine let's say a good amount of your portable lib is recognized and you can update them all in one click, without going to each individual official website ?
What if you want to download your entire lib into a specific folder, let's say on a USB key, from scratch, or add new software from our list ?

Yes, that's something we can consider. We can have them diplayed in another way, and unsupported for update. Until we support it :)

Yes, this is still being brainstormed, but there's a chance we do something like this. Like a "community feedback" (see reply above)

    Heya :)
    1. It's probably because its uninstall key is under 32 bits registry. But that can also be a bug, we'll take a look.
    2. Indeed, LibreOffice was updated today (LibreOffice 7.6.1 (2023-09-14)), I forced refresh but it would have been picked later during the day anyway. Can you retry ?
    3. What do you call "various" ? There's several filters at the top of the window, if that helps.

Of course, both are fine, especially if UCheck can handle selective download locations...

Yes it will, it's currently being implemented (portable soft support)

Excellent ... Together with the 'community feedback' idea! Will gladly upgrade for that.
I see some light at the end of the tunnel! :thumb::)

    Permanent hide.
I don't care to have displayed,to give just one example, Thunderbird's Mozilla Maintenace Service.

In my opinion there would need to be an option that would set it to scan automatically when UCheck starts.

Unfortunately, I have already updated LibreOffice,so I cannot repeat.

So you mean you'd like to hide some software from the "installed" list, permanently ? I'm afraid it's kind of a niche use case.

If you can't hide the installed softwares you should give the possibility to users to have a screen in Ucheck where they can enter the various softwares they want to keep under control.
Which may be even fewer in number than those installed.;):)

    P.S.

My requests are probably similar to those of all the users on this forum who use Sumo.
    Thanks for your helpfulness.

Maybe it's just me that don't understand. You can add exclusions to hide some software from the Updates. The "Installed" panel is like the "Program and features" from Windows, it's just displayed another way.

Some people want just that, but I would like to take care of the updates myself. I just need a SUMo-like app that scans all my apps - including portable apps - for updates and I will do the rest.:)

First of all I want to say thanks for giving consideration to ideas from SUMo users

There are a couple things I like about SUMo compared to what I am seeing in Ucheck.

In Sumo I have 70 Software products I monitor and all are supported.
In Ucheck if I hide Microsoft Products, it shows I have 84 products installed but only 16 of them are supported.

For example, today SUMo showed updates for AOMEI Partition Assistant and Ucheck.

Neither of these was reported by Software Informer or WingetUI or even Ucheck itself. I was surprised that I had to find out about version 4.10.1.0 of Ucheck from SUMo and that it doesn't even support itself.

Are there any plans to have more products supported?

In Sumo as long as one other person is using a product that I'm using, then it will show me if there are updates available for that product. Ucheck will not work well for me if only 16 of my products are supported.

It would be more user friendly if we could exclude products from update checking on the Installed list rather than having to wait until there is an update so it can be excluded there.

I am another one that doesn't want updates automatically applied. I want to be able to evaluate the update and then decide if I want to apply it or not. This is something SUMo handles well. When I decide I want to apply the update, I would like to be able to download the update from the products website via Ucheck as SUMo allows rather than a third party. I don't see a way to do this in Ucheck. Is it possible?

    Bill

+1 for only informing; not automatically updating.

Can UCheck preserve the original language of my already installed software (update process) ? I have some programs that I like to use in my native language (PT-BR) and almost all updaters override it with the EN-US language version after an update.

I'm a SUMO user who had support for 38 of 64 softwares, but am disappointed by only 17 supported through UCheck. I am another user who just prefers to be notified of updates and I'll go find and download them. So I second (or third or wherever we're at in unofficial polling) the idea of growing the supported software database as quickly as possible. I liked seeing that you will be keeping track of software usages via scans to know what needs to be added. Thanks.

Well, yes. In the "Updates" list, you just need to play with the individual buttons => "Download", then "Install". It will pop the installer in user-friendly way (as opposed to silent mode if you use bulk installs)

Same here, if you don't check "Automatic updates" in the Settings (it's off by default), none of your software will be automatically updated.

There's 2 ways of supporting that:
    - Either it's well-handled by the installer itself, that will detect your locale, or existing configuration and keep it. Ucheck canno't go against that
    - Or the editor provides an installer per language. We will support that when it's the case (see Firefox for example)

Yeah it's a mistake our side, deployed stuff too early. I've reverted, is it working better ?
