Updated W10 22H2 from catalog. TWO .NET updates were offered, plus the regular CU. Installed each .NET update and rebooted separately, then the CU. No problems noticed.

As for MS updates I'm back on track again. I re-enabled MS updates to give a try this month patches and all Win 10 updates installed smoothly. As a precaution I disconnected from all peripherals as recommended by @xxJackxx in post #7730

    Update for Windows 10 22H2 64-bit system (KB5029244)

Won't install. Tried offline installer and it won't install either. Restored to an earlier date (July 16) when things were working fine but still can't get it to install. Windows update troubleshooter won't run either. I hate this.

Thankfully got it working. Won't bore you with the details except to say it was my own fault.

Hi, may I ask: how did you accomplish this yourself? Because you see many people online going down this rabbit hole, right?

Oh and updated Windows 11 Insiders beta. Much slower process on 11 versus 10. MUCH. Yet my File Explorer opens immediately.

Multiple PCs and a couple of servers later, still no problems.

The updates went fine for me on Windows 11, as they always do. I'm only posting because for some unknown reason, my PC automatically restarted and installed them.

On my first attempt to update I got in a hurry. When I rebooted the circle just kept spinning and it didn't appear to be doing anything. It was taking forever and I thought something was wrong so I forced a shutdown. Nothing worked right after that. So after trying everything I could think of, I restored to an earlier date and reinstalled updates, this time letting it finish on its own. It took awhile but it finally did finish and all was okay. Let this be a cautionary tale; when it says don't turn off your computer, don't. LOL

Yeah, my boss made me shut down a server that was updating once. It took 2 days to recover everything and get it running again. I think he knows better now.

We live in hectic times and usually we don't care what is written in instructions of use and other terms of use of goods, apps etc. So it's no wonder we don't take seriously also information that we shouldn't turn off the comp during update. We think that we know everything about Win ... what could happen, nothing can surprise us ... until we actually turn the comp off. :D Lesson learned.

I did the latest Insiders beta update to v. 23H2 build 22631.2199 and here we are:

Right now I'm trying to repair the corruption but it's not looking promising. Anyone ever see this before? A reboot didn't help. Guess I'll leave it be, although I can't check for any new updates at the moment.. :doubt:

Edit: restarted machine and did sfc again as dism reported being successful. How typical--lol.

I'm just gonna leave that alone for now.

Good! In a worst case situation, resetting Windows will usually help but you want to see if you can fix a broken Windows first.

SFC doesn't seem to do much useful and I haven't had much luck with it for a long time. These days about the only luck I have had with fixing Windows corruption is to have a working image to restore to or if I can get an ISO of the same version, an over the top reinstall. I've had good luck with a reinstall fixing it and not blowing out other software.

KB502951 Cumulative Preview for Win 11 went in without any issues.

KB5029331 Cumulative Preview for Win 10 also went in without issue.
KB5029847 net framework for Win 10 installed as well.

Windows 11 update seems ok and went fairly quickly. Windows 10 update took 45 minutes for the Preview update. It seems to be ok so far.

    Installed smoothly on W1022H2.
But I wonder why on the restart I saw with System Informer that I had BGAUpsell.exe (safe application signed by Microsoft) running in Temp folder and connecting to Akamai Technologies.

    *EDIT*
Found this video that seems to explain what BGAUpsell.exe is

But what is the situation with the download and installation of Windows Defender updates, for example? After the first version of KB5029331, which appeared on the 10th of August, it was no longer possible to install these updates properly. Almost always the message 0x8007000d appeared.
    Has it been fixed now?
