    thats not true
    dom.webgpu.enabled
is present since early 2020 and any was free to enable it and try it. so its functionality is present, but i assume very basic. was around firefox 77/78.

    see also official page
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/WebGPU_API

    and
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1616739

    and for the german audience
    https://www.camp-firefox.de/artikel/179-firefox-bekommt-oberfläche-für-experimentelle-funktionen/

but mozilla has ruddered back again, its not enabled in v115 (rc2). currently its not supported - means, you wont get help.
it is enabled by default again in current nightly v116, but does not work at all - but it does not work too in edge v114 although it should

this one is (the only) working in v116

none of them in edge, strange.

I was browsing popular sites and looked at the dns records and that popped up. I've blocked it. In Nextdns I am using with Firefox option's maximum protection.

That is rather weird indeed. I did notice in the past that extensions do not work on internal pages like about:support. They then mention it is a priviliged page. This seems entirely different though.

did you remember when you could use the latest time addons on mozilla pages?

internal pages are taboo since v57 and webextensions, for reason, not the same disaster when extensions screwed firefox.

mozilla domains are not allowed for security reason, since ages, maybe also since v57. or do you like to install fake and malicious extensions?

the restricted thing is present since v113
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/addons-restricted-domains

some voices ranting but this could be a fault from the mozilla AI

one of the inserted BR domains were hacked shortly. ouch!

we will see how it behaves, currently i wont touch it.

I was just notified in a Windows 7 VM that this is the last version of Firefox for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 with only security releases for the next year. Not a big deal, these VMs are only for testing purposes but I hadn't previously seen that this would be it.
