Please file a detailed bug report on https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/, so our dev team could try to reproduce the issue and fix it. Include information about the website(s) that it happens on, how many tabs on average you have open, approximately how long has Vivaldi been running, when the issue starts occurring, etc.

Surely a mouse gesture for the ''Stack Tabs by Host'' command shouldn't be that hard to add?

 

I put the request in our internal bug/task tracking system on your behalf a while ago, but it's up to the dev team to decide who and when will work on it.

Anyone here a Vivaldi user? I am checking it out and wondering why some of the favorites in the bookmark bar truncate the name while others display the full name?

 

There is a length limit. If the bookmark title is very long, it gets truncated.

If the bookmarks with more or less same title length get displayed differently, could you share a screenshot?

 

I haven't checked it out yet, but I do hope that it doesn't work as confusing as the last time I checked in Vivaldi 5.7, where it was an experimental feature. I couldn't figure out how to assign websites to a certain workspace and how to make Vivaldi remember it. Also, it would make more sense if you could make buttons for the different workspaces, instead of keep having to click on the Workspaces tab.

 

There is a way to have a button for each Workspace on the toolbar, but it requires a bit of work.
First, go to Settings > Quick Commands > Command Chains and create a new chain. Add the command "Switch to Workspace #" as an action. You can also add different actions to the same chain. For example, switching Themes as you switch Workspaces seems to be a popular one.
Once you've created the Command Chain, open the Toolbar Editor and from the Command Chains section, drag the new chain to a toolbar of your choice.

As a bonus, you can also add custom icons to the Command Chain buttons in Settings > Themes > Editor > Icons.

 

Thanks, I've checked out Command Chains before but I found it a bit too complex and it didn't work as expected, it did not create the correct buttons in Vivaldi 5.7, but I will try again when I upgrade to Vivaldi 6. However, I believe Vivaldi should automatically do this for you.

BTW, I noticed that Vivaldi still has got this annoying bug that when you navigate from one Instagram profile to another, and if you bookmark this second profile, it still gets bookmarked under the first profile name, perhaps you can test and reproduce?

So let's say you first visit Salma Hayek, and then you click on her followers and navigate to Claire Burgos, then the Claire Burgos page will be bookmarked under Salma Hayek's name.

BTW, I didn't test it with Edge and Firefox, because I don't want to login on my Instagram account on those browsers.

Awesome, I hope it wil be fixed soon. Like I said, I don't know if this also happens in Edge or Firefox, didn't check this. And I also hope they will soon add a mouse gesture for the ''Stack Tabs by Host'' feature.

 

I keep seeing this on the pages that describe new releases.
Yet, ever since it became an option, Translate has been a pathetic joke.
I'm not sure how many users would even need this service, but that really is irrelevant.

Well this is one item that has never been "polished".
It's as useless now as the first day it was introduced.
Why do they even bother having it when it does not work - even for 85% of the simplest translations!

FYI - I have used Vivaldi since it was first introduced and I love it.
I can never see myself using anything else.
BUT...!!!

 

I wouldn't call it useless, as I often rely on it myself and it works well enough for me. My translation needs are relatively basic, though, and I've seen the bugs that have been reported, so I also agree with you, @longshots, that in some cases the translation feature does not work as well as one would hope and as we ourselves expected it would when we started implementing it in the browser. Why it's taking us so long to fix issues with translation is a combination of a few different reasons, but we hope to get to it soon.
Luckily, you also have an option to use a translation extension of your choice or add your favorite translation site as a web panel.
