On opening Firefox this morning on my laptop running Norton I was presented with this URL: https://au.norton.com/products/norton-secure-browser Norton Secure Browser? I had no idea Norton even had a 'Secure Browser'. No, I haven't downloaded or installed it.
Probably norton has detected now that you have firefox installed, or installed it afterwards. "secure browser" is not limited to norton, eset and kasperle has similar. it starts firefox with a new profile with nothing in it and some limitations. the truth is that such profile is waste of time to think about. use your setup of firefox and thats same secure even more secure.

A closer look on the web page pointed me out in some images that it is firefox. some companies started with firefox, switched to chrome, then back to firefox, and so on. shadow defender do not help out in normal mode anytime, if a browser is vulnerable its also vulnerable with SD. if malware compromised your system while SD running it acts same as without. i dont know how many times that need to be explained that shadow defender has absolute no impact while usage, it only resets the system to a known state but then malware has done its work. Seriously!

The integration of technologies and products/services between Avast and Norton is on the rise and the next logical step is the integration between engines and what will differentiate Gen Digital's products is just the brand attached. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see, for example, Avira antivirus surviving, it will probably become an Avast rebrand. And even Norton will probably adopt Avast's technologies and lab to reduce costs and dependence on STAR/Broadcom.
This is what I've been told about this browser: "Currently, it is in A/B test phase. Only selected customers will see the option to download it." A/B test phase sounds like alpha/beta test phase to me. That being the case, maybe I shouldn't have shared the URL, but what am I going to do? The cat's out of the bag now.
