office 2019/2021 custom install software looking for

Hi
I don't remember if office 2016 or even 2013 let an user to make a custom install

but about 2019/2021 , yes there is a way to perform a custom install , but it's slow and it could be handy have it on a usb stick and a software maybe free ,that let me with few clicks install only what a client does need

do you know some freeware or shareware software that let to perform an easy custom install?

Come on, it doesn't take that much to open an account at MDL and you'll get a universe of good stuff there...

 

Oh, for this you don't need to use any special software or script or whatever.
You can also do this via the Microsoft Office website and generate a so-called configuration file (usually configuration.xml)

But of course there are many more scripts made by home craftsmen, which you can find if you use the search.
One of the best known is YAOCTRI (Yet Another Office Click-To-Run Installer) - works great, personally tested many times.
I think the latest one is YAOCTRI_v10.6, but maybe there is another newer one. However, all older ones also work great if you change the version of Office to the one you want to install.

I guess there are good tools and i know i used to use Microsoft Office website to create the configuration
by the way I liked granular install , let me install only word with some option like language and so on
really can't understand why have to install the all microsoft office suiute with all the programs
I guess under mac ,there is the option to select which software install

Yes, you can and you can also install only Word and you can install it in the language of your choice and you don't need to install anything else, or if you want, install Word and Excel for example or however you want. There is no obligation to install all of the Suite.
But for that, you have to make your choice before the start of the installation and save it as a configuration file, there really isn't an option to make ticks there.
And what's more - you don't even have to download those components that you don't want to install. That way you download only the parts you want to install and that's all.

I have tried to perform a custom install of microsoft office 2021 pro plus 2021 retail , i wanted to install only word , i have followed the steps by steps but..
It did keep a lot , even i have mounted the image , to install , i guess it did start to download from internet

 

I have a retail license key for Office Professional Plus 2021 and I use YAOCTRI_v10.6 to do a custom install. After you extract its folder, right click on YAOCTRIR_Configurator.cmd , choose Run as Admin, then go through the configuration, at the end just choose Install now. Now you have a stripped down version of Office with only the app(s) that you need but can be activated legally without having the rest which may be useless to use (ie. I never install OneNote, Publishes, OneDrive, Skype for Business)

I downloaded the latest ISO for Office 2021 Pro Plus from here: https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/16-office-2021-direct-download-links

Extracted it using PowerISO (or WinRAR)

Used the script above to direct it to the location of the setup file

It installs, but doesn't update on the fly (you can also go into airplane mode if you wanna make sure it just installs offline)

then I activate it with my product key after going offline

then check for updates

Yeah I extract all the ISOs and keep them in my Software folder which contains all the programs that I usually install. There is no need to keep the ISO later because who in this age actually burns ISOs to DVDs to then install them from it?

well , appreciate your help , i have downlaoded the official retail but it's not an iso but an *.img extension
i will try as soon as possible
nice the language packs ,I would like to download some , and do you know if there is a way to improve the office word spelling and grammar corrector check with extra files to download?

If needed, you can change the extension from .img to .iso. Contents are exactly the same thing.

YAOCTRI_v10.7.zip should be the most updated?

Maybe but I find an AV false positive a lot less likely with an ISO than with executable programs.

 

Because at the time you asked for it (Jun 4, 2023), v10.6 was the most updated.
10.7 was released on Nov 11 2023 if I'm not wrong.
