Yeah i guess these "flash in the pan" types come out for a spin, then close up shop for whatever reasons. I only use it now as a Novelty item on a system 0ffLine just to play with it when there's time for that.
Why is this topic still Going The program is Gone the Developers are gone There is simply nothing more to discuss here....
I wish it was more clear what the heck goes on in china that some developers come out with fantastic security programs only to drop right off the radar after a period of time being active. This reminds me of EQSys Secure HIPS years ago. Extremely user friendly and configurable which intercepted nearly any path inside Windows XP however when x64 came out all HIPS flopped and went out of business. This one too is CLOSED UP SHOP
Is WV still running for some? I feel like I'm necro-ing a long lost thread, OK I am doing that but it's a delayed reaction to all the goodwill and camaraderie that ended up disappearing without a trace (a lot like Zemana if anyone recalls that epoch). I tried the link in the OP on page 1 and got this: Spoiler: WV where are you Similar for Brave browser. So again, is anyone still running this and if so, how is it doing? Does anyone have any updated news about the company behind this ghost antivirus?
It's been abandoned and I would recommend uninstalling it. In time, Huawei Qiankun Endpoint Security may be a good alternative. One of the developers of WiseVector is now working on it. @cruelsister did a review of the previous version at MalwareTips. While it didn't do so well in her test, a new version was released after she tested it and no doubt it would do better if tested again. https://malwaretips.com/threads/huawei-qiankun-endpoint-security-quick-dance.127527/ https://qiankun-saas.huawei.com/dm-web/#/product/detail/edrPersonal Although the website is in Chinese, it installs in English and is free. While it is called Endpoint Security, at this stage it's not an endpoint product. I believe in time, they will release a paid endpoint product, while keeping the free personal version too.
The user guide pdf. is in Simplified Chinese but it can be replaced with an American English translation through DeepL.
Might be worth a look but i long since shuttled WiseVector and not interested in yet another flash-in-the-pan app from that group again. You either keep with the program or quit wasting other peoples time & effort is the motto on this end.
OK, so the WiseVector developer is now employed by Huawei? And wasn't there some other Chinese HIPS that was still being developed, can't remember its name? But it seems to be a very basic HIPS and look at all of the services it installs, no thanks.
Installed the new build yesterday and ran the same malware used in my last Malwarebytes video, and the results were similar.
WVSX had a formidable program with solid performance then just like all these chinese apps before, (EQSysSecure HIPS comes to mind) they simply close up shop. Not worth wasting my effort or interest in these TEMPORARY foreign inventions that have no forward progression over time. Shame too since it did exhibit novel ideals built in to snag and eliminate malwares in a nano-second response time. Sigh
I'm not going to lie, I never really liked WiseVector. I prefer behavior blockers that give you full control over app behavior like SpyShelter and Comodo. And do you remember the other Chinese HIPS that I mentioned? I keep forgetting its name.
I've already found it, it was Huorong Internet Security. Apparantly it's even available on the MS Store now. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/xpddxvfrxcxk80?hl=en-US&gl=US
Still using it and, and still calling home: P.S. Tried to post this about seven hours, ago but the laptop, was misbehaving. But, it's fine, for the moment. Reimaged from my original screenshot capture in PNG format, and now in JPG format.
