I was using Windows 10 that has been updated to Windows 11. I found out that the icon of Windows Security that was located in the hidden icons (lower right hand side of the desktop) disappeared. I found the icon in the applications menu, but cannot open it. how to reinstall it. thanks
You can try to right click Windows Security in ‘All apps’, click on ‘more/app settings/reset and you can try ‘repair’ first, and ‘reset’ if necessary…
Firstly, have you tried rebooting, as it often fixes the issue. If you have done that and the issue persists, run DISM. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image If you still have no success, I suggest running Windows Repair from tweaking.com. It's free and can fix a lot of Windows problems. The next step, if you still have the issue would be to do an In-place upgrade of Windows, where you reinstall Windows without losing any apps or data. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...ndows-10/7f0b236e-3c6c-4913-9691-c4baa2a6190a
I tried many options but without any success. 1. rebooted many times 2.clicking Windows Security in 'All apps' , click on ‘more/app settings' - I got the windows in attached picture No 1 clicking there on the block 'Open Windows Security' - I got the attached picture No2 clicking on 'Browse Microsoft Stores' - I got "No results Found - Try different Keywords or remove search filters' 3. clicking 'Get Help' in picture No 1 - I got a list of "Recommended solution - Get Help with Windows Security settings in Windows" clicking on the command ' Fix Windows Security issues' - I got the windows in picture No 3 clicking on 'Download' - nothing happens Note: when I am opening the PC, I got sometime the notification in picture No 4 clicking on the notification - I got the windows in picture No 5 , - the icon is like a picture (unresponsive).
@samy Have a read here of this thread (read all before trying anything) https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...g/3159ed5e-2b6c-4c62-ae1e-8ba63ccbd1ae?page=1
Hi Stapp interested link, thanks. I tried all the recommendations, load powershell as admin and paste the different suggested codes without success. I opened the microsoft store, tried to install microsoft defender, got error Code: 0x800706D9 I hope I won't regret why I upgraded from Windows 10 to windows 11
@samy Sounds like a possibly corrupt user profile. Do you have any others you can log into to see if it works under another user?
I am the lonely user. I was using Windows 10 for more than a year with no problems. I got a lot of pop-ups convincing to update to windows 11 and few days ago......... I did it.
If it has been less than 10 days you could try to roll back to 10. If it has been longer a disk image would have allowed you to do so whenever. If you are stuck with 11 or want to keep it you could try to create a local user logon to see if it works with a new account. If so it would identify the problem. If not then you would know to continue troubleshooting.
Hi xxJackxx today I discovered another issue: the application "Paint" is not responding. I opened the App Settings, checked the commands 'Repair' and 'Reset" with no success Two days ago I used it with no problem. How can I roll back to my previous Windows 10 that was working so smoothly
If you are not past the time limit (10 days to my understanding) take a look at this: How to revert back to Windows 10 from Windows 11 - Pureinfotech
