Thank you for the explanation. What triggered it remains a mystery to me.
I'll chalk it up to a jumpy mouse and move on :)

Updated Edge to Version 111.0.1661.54 (Official build) (64-bits). Sandboxed Edge warns me that I am using Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 (using Windows 10 though)..

    Sandboxie Plus 1.8.1/Win10 22H2 build 19045.2728

Have you tried updating Edge to latest build? I have not seen that warning on Win 10 when sandboxed.

Force it, unsandboxed of course :D
3 dots top right of Edge page, scroll down to Help and Feedback and then slide over to About Microsoft Edge.

Now also on a second laptop: Sandboxed Edge warns me that I am using Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 (using Windows 10 though). Edge despite warning still usable.

Seems a bit odd as no one else has reported it so it may be something about your machines.
Do you sync one machine to the other for Edge settings and profile settings etc?
Was it a clean Win 10 install or an upgrade from 7/8/8.1
The Edge warning doesn't show unsandboxed?
Have you tried a clean sbie install?
    A repair install of Edge?

Just trying to think of any reasons.

Running Windows 10 for a couple of years now on both laptops. Unsandboxed Edge no problems. See: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sandboxie-plus-v1-8-0.450696/page-3. Posts posts #55, #56 and #57.

Could it be my AV or maybe HMP.Alert? Maybe an Edge-repair could resolve this.

Or perhaps your sbie ini could have gotten a bit messed up.
    Keep trying :thumb:

Getting this message also sandboxing Edge:

    ..................................
    Syncing your profile

123@123.com signed in on this device, so we signed you in on Microsoft Edge, too.
We sync your favorites, history, passwords and other browser data across all devices you're signed in to.

Go to Settings > Profiles if you want to sign out.

Edit: unsandboxed Edge not signed in/not synced.
