    Interesting stuff, never heard of Rapidus but I do know that the US is currently trying to pressure both Dutch and Japanese chip equipment makers like ASML and Nikon, to not sell the most advanced machines to China. But now that I think about it, this article is about companies that actually make chips themselves. So basically this Rapidus/IBM combo will try to compete with TSMC, Samsung and Intel.

    With Intel's "achievements" it feels like insult to Rapidus :ouch:

    Yes but this isn't about Intel CPU's, I assume you meant you're not impressed with them when compared to AMD and ARM's. But in the coming years, Intel is planning to produce more chips for other companies. Similar to how AMD spun off GlobalFoundries. BTW, I edited my last post, I mentioned ASML and Canon, but instead of Canon I meant Nikon. About Rapidus, it's a joint venture of Sony, Toshiba and others.
