    A Happy New Year to everyone!

    Thank you for the new version. It looks like the automatic deletion after a restart ("sandbox clean-up on startup") no longer works. At least in my test VM nothing is deleted after a reboot. (Automatic deletion after exiting the sandboxed application still works.)

    Where is this option or how is it named?

    @busy, @DavidXanatos: Thank you for the quick replies.

    With the entry "CleanUpOnStart=true" in the sandboxie-plus.ini it works again.

    Was my mistake, I had tried it this morning always only in the sandboxie.ini... :)

    However, the changelog should say the following because the option is now disabled by default:
    "added option to enable sandbox clean-up on startup (sandboxie-plus.ini > [Options] > CleanUpOnStart=true)"

    just updated to 1.6.4 and no issues in principle but on one pc even with the prior version 1.56 (or so) Vivaldi would not start. I encountered this issue in the past but usually reboot would solve this. Chrome is working fine as does Firefox. Was there any additional step to make Vivaldi more compatible? Using Win 10 and only have this issue on one pc at the moment.

    I don't know that there are any. I'm able to use Vivaldi just fine, in SBIE Plus 1.6.45 and versions prior. But I'll post my config in case it can be of any help. My vivaldi install is located at C:\Program Files\Vivaldi.

    Thank you N8chavez - I do not remember having made any changes from default in the gui and I certainly have not touched any ini files. I would not know how to do that anyway. Fortunately in the past it only was intermittent on my main desk and currently there it works fine. I now have this issue on a separate pc and for now I can use chrome or firefox, just was hoping there is a setting that I overlooked.

    No problem here either with Vivaldi.
    Perhaps run it unsandboxed and check for updates through the GUI, sometime one can get 'stuck' and sbie cannot load because it doesn't know what build it is supposed to run:)
    It happened to me once.

    stapp - yes, that has been my standard approach and it normally worked. Updating unsandboxed and restarting Vivaldi or rebooting the pc, normally this did indeed fix this issue. However, today I had no luck with that. So I even updated to the latest version (unsandboxed of course) but I am now back on my main pc at a different location, so cannot do anything further until later this week. It's more an annoyance than a major issue for me as this is not my main workspace and I can use the other browsers for those days, just hoped that there was a simple fix that I had not yet tried.

    Do you have the default Sandboxed Web Browser icon on your desktop for Vivaldi that you use to run it sandboxed, or do you right-click on the Vivaldi desktop icon itself and select 'run Sandboxed' ?

    Stapp, I don't use the shortcuts. I have the default box set up to run all browsers sandboxed automatically via Program Control (chrome, firefox, msedge, vivaldi as well as added the download folder). So when I start any browser from the task bar they end up in the default sandbox. If I wish to run a browser separately in my finance sandbox, I choose to rightclick on the sandboxie icon, choose the sandbox, run/ run program and then choose the browser). I update all of these unsandboxed.

    not sure if I fixed the issue permanently but at the moment Vivaldi works on the pc that had issues early this week. I had a default sandbox and a new default sandbox - don't even remember the reason how this started. I just deleted the default sandbox and renamed the New Default as Default, now running only one Default and one for Finance matters. So while I could not see any setting as being wrong before, maybe that was the case. :)

    Edit: While it still works I am surprised to see that I again have three sandboxes (see screenshot). It seems to me that one of them gets created automatically ? So have now deleted the DefaultBox and at this point I am back to two sandboxes and vivaldi is still working.

    The default box always gets re created from scratch, but in the settings you can designate an otehr box to be the default box, than it will be kept alive by all means nececery ;)

    Hello David,

    Could you please also solve this problem until the next version 1.66:

    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/sandboxie/issues/2588

    Firefox 108 also freezes me 2-3 times since 1.53 a day, at:

    UsePrivacyMode = y
    UseSecurityMode = y

    Not so nice when you are in the ordering process or in online banking.

    Thanks, Sabine

    Could you try with the following settings:

    Code:
    UsePrivacyMode=y
    UseSecurityMode=n
    RestrictDevices=y

    @busy
    thank you ,

    UseSecurityMode=y is not the problem, if
    UsePrivacyMode=n

    is RestrictDevices=y the same security as UseSecurityMode = y ?

    UseSecurityMode = y is a combination of 3 presets RestrictDevices=y is one of them
