It's disappointing that ESET has finally added some behavior blocking capability against ransomware, which has been a long known weak point of ESET (Ransomware shield is not effective) but it's limited by processors.

This is not true. ESET has never been weak in terms of protection no matter whether it was ransomware or other malware. On the other hand, there's no security solution that would protect against 100% of threats with zero false positives.

I feel it should be the job of the Operating System to block any untrusted programs from encrypting anything. This should not have to be the job of 3rd party software.

Agree. MS is lax with security.

Same here. Reboot required on two 7-64 machines.

According to my own experience, with home and enterprise solutions of Eset,
    It under-performed, compare to Kaspersky.
Based on today experiences, Eset performs poor on adware and pups.
Just my 2 cents, waiting for a massiv contra.

I can't comment on it's protection level as I hardly ever encounter malware or PUPs. I follow some AV testing labs and it performs good in their tests.
I was using Kaspersky a while ago but ESET performs better when it comes to system impact. At least that's on my system. I also like their low false positives rate.
Of course users have different experiences and also expectations on what is important for them when they choose AV software.

Usually, ESET does much better a detecting PUPs than Kaspersky does. I just scanned a number of PUPs at VirusTotal. ESET detected the majority of them, while Kaspersky detected none.

It is my experience as well, ESET is the solution with the best PUP protection that I have used, while I really like Kaspersky, it is not even close.

    OT:
Renewed my licenses for EIS. Same price at Eset NL as three years ago. Everything went smooth and quickly.
The clock starts ticking for the new ones at the date the current ones end.
I see the new validation date already in EIS.
Less than 90 Euro for 3 x 3. Not bad at all.

    PS:
I don't know what to do with that "ESET Home Account" in EIS; never used it.

You can store your license in the ESET account to keep it safe, see the devices using the license and remove devices if required.
