    You got a great deal, Krusty! OSArmor is one program (of the many I've owned, run and discarded over the years) that I'd be content paying full price for all the time. The program warrants it and the developers can use the money. Not saying anything is wrong with seeking discounts!

    @Page42 , I couldn't agree more. I couldn't pass up the discount (and renewals are also @ 50%), but OSA is worth the full cost in my opinion.

    As I grow older I find myself thinking more seriously about how I spend my $s.

    @Krusty -- As one gets older, it's usually one's heirs who are seriously concerned with how the aging one spends his money. :p

    I totally agree with the 3 above posts. That is why I am trying to get NVT with the 20% discount...$4 is $4! I just can not figure out how. Hopefully, NVT will PM me the code and make it easier.

    Something to do with SpyShelter that I have running on my laptop, and wanting to open the log:

    I added this to OSA exclusions...

    Is (real time) running two strong extra layers a good idea?

    Can only learn from experience. ...So, whether it a good idea, or not, time will tell.

    If you’re in the pre Windows 11 era, this thread is still of great value.

    On the other hand, with Windows 22h2, Microsoft has brought everything together in the form of a kitchen sink approach to fighting malware and ransomware.

    I’m hard pressed to see what they’ve kept out and the PC security industry by hardening Windows, have by their very success, paved the path to their own extinction.

    How can you beat a multibillion dollar software giant at its own game? Small software developers don’t have the resources to compete with it on that scale.

    Windows 11 is many things but its a trial run for the next gen Windows concept in comprehensive and integrated security utilising hardware preemption, malware deterrence, application control whitelisting, container virtualisation and memory core isolation all working in concert to protect Windows from every form of attack.

    On both the hardware and software level, the holy grail of a secure PC is in sight of finally being realised.

    Personally I'd rather have one or more ad hoc softwares like OSA thans MS's kitchen sink. Defender maybe, but not Smart App Control.
    No way to exclude FP's ... no thanks. Evaluation would disqualify me anyway - or I'd have to switch it off.

    Hi @novirusthanks

    Found a problem. After I joined my laptop to a domain, the password for disabling 10 minutes doesn't work no more. Same for Configurator. I have set the password to the same as the local admin account name and password. I am on Win 11 Pro.

    @lunarlander

    Will take a look at it.

    Can you confirm only the password is not working (I guess it is not accepted as correct)?

    Here is a pre-release test 6 version of OSArmor PERSONAL v1.8.2:

    Code:
    https://downloads.osarmor.com/osa-personal-1-8-2-setup-test6.exe

    Here is what's new compared to previous build:

    + Fixed all reported false positives
    + Updated NVT License Manager with latest version
    + Renamed Extreme Protection profile in Maximum Protection
    + Updated Help/FAQs file
    + Minor improvements

    You can install over-the-top, reboot is not needed.

    Let me know if you find issues or FPs.

    Wasn't there a consideration to show whether this is a test build or not? I mean: it's signed and everything but there is no differentiation on the UI whether this is the official release versus "test." Says 1.8.2.0 not "6".

    A really minor if not trivial observation, though. I'm enjoying it regardless. No obvious issues for months now. :thumb:

    Hi @plat ,

    I don't remember reading about that but I agree it could be useful for beta testers to know exactly which build we are using.

    @plat , @Krusty ;) :)

    I don't think it is hard to know. I download the latest exe, and then install.

    ... But I think it would be easier to see a build number on the GUI.

    @plat @Krusty

    Planning to include the build number in the changelog (easier than editing the GUI every time).

    @bjm_

    It may be related to "Privacy Suite Risk Monitor", possible?

    Just found this on another website:

    Code:
    HKLM-x32\...\Run: [Privacy Suite Risk Monitor] => schtasks /run /tn {995C167A-3E0F-4C93-9F4E-25AFC941C573}

    @Mops21

    Yes thanks for writing here the update.

    We've released the blog of OSArmor, one of the recently posted article:

    Fake OBS Studio Websites Advertised on Google Lead to Infostealer | OSArmor Blog

    More will be added with time.
