I have been a long-time user and fan of Sandboxie, going back to the previous version where I purchased a lifetime subscription (that is the level to which I love using this app). It's kept me safe for years.

I just upgrade to Windows 10, and I'm not sure which current version of Sandboxie is best suited for me. The classic version seems very familiar, but the Plus version seems newer and more future-proof.

But mostly I need something that will not give me any errors and is running 100% smoothly using Internet Explorer. What is my best option to get?

Both will work fine. I would suggest you try SB+ as it is "the future", even though David has committed to continuing SB Classic.

Your existing settings/sandboxes should be imported without change, although it may be worth starting again so you know what options (many, many) are available.

I think you should go with Sandboxie Plus, it has a nicer, more smooth looking GUI and keep in mind you don't actually have to use the more advanced features, you can just ignore them. And of course you should drop Internet Explorer and go with Edge, Vivaldi, Brave or Firefox.

Thanks everyone. I think 99.9% of the reason I didn't jump into the Plus version (when the switch happened), was I was still generating some errors when running certain browsers in the sandbox. I use Internet Explorer 60% of the time, then Firefox and Chrome in tandem the other 40%. On a fresh install of Windows 10 and Sandboxie Plus, has most (if not all) of those issues been resolved where I won't have any issues? I think another was the sandbox not always emptying properly when I close the browser.

Out of curiosity and somewhat related: does anyone routinely use the Vintage view function in Plus? Does that help make the transition from Classic to Plus any easier?

I'll be the unpopular "odd man out" and say I've tried both and I reverted back to Classic. Like the OP, I've been a long time user of SBIE. Paid for a couple of lifetime licenses (for me and family members) way back when when Tzuk was in charge. And I've also donated to David X for his continuing work. I had mastered fairly well most of the features in Classic that were important to me and customized my sandboxes accordingly. When I tried Plus, I never expected to understand all the new features, etc since I knew they would be at a higher tech level than I am. But I at least wanted to be comfortable enough where I could do some tweaking if I wanted to. Unfortunately, I couldn't even figure out how to assign drive letters to a sandbox (e.g. so flash drives would open automatically in a sandbox when inserted in a usb port). Or how to block certain files/folders. Stuff like that. I can do that in Classic, but was unsuccessful in Plus. And I couldn't find helpful tutorial information that I could read/study. Again, I wasn't expecting to understand everything about Plus, but I expected to be able to figure some stuff out...but I wasn't very successful. And I wasn't comfortable with a "just use it with the default settings and then forget about it" approach. Not saying there's anything wrong with that approach. I just like to have a better working knowledge of what I'm doing. So, that's why I'm staying with Classic...at least for now.

Been many years since i last used sandboxie.(windows vista) and i'm once again intrigued by the sandboxie+ program..i use edge as my browser and this contains application guard so not entirely certain if i need sandboxie again or not..but my middle aged whiskers are twitching and im itching to give this version a shot..
I am assuming this runs quite stable on windows 10.?.
