    I used TeraByte Unlimited's fixboot.tbs and I can now boot Win11.

    I've sent you the logs.

    You mentioned earlier that this backup only backed up the Windows partition (C: drive), we can confirm that the problem was caused by restoring the isolated Windows partition. Our work will focus on this issue, which may take some time.

    Thanks TheRollbackFrog, that's exactly what we want to say, we'll implement this feature in a future release.

    Thanks. Are you able to prevent people doing this? Prevent backing up and restoring the Windows partition? A warning is not sufficient.
    The System backup/restore works fine.

    I always do System backups/restores. The only reason I persevered with this single partition backup/restore is curiosity. It works with other software as TRF mentioned.

    It's not enough to just prevent users from doing this, it's best to fix it completely. Please give us some time to implement it, thanks.

    That's good news. If it's any indication, Hasleo Backup Suite will prove a vital and very welcome imaging solution.

    I'm good with AOMEI, but I'm very curious about Hasleo, nice to read that they fix it.

    The program seems like a really good alternative after the MRF. But is it possible to create a recovery disk normally from the program anymore ?

    I'm not sure what your "normally" means. When you use the "Emergency Disk" option, you are offered 2-options... if you have a UFD inserted into the machine, the creation window will offer to turn it into a BOOTable UFD or create an ISO for you to process separately into a BOOTable UFD (aka "Rufus").

    That all sounds kinda normal to me (I use the ISOs). One user had trouble using a UFD that was never recognized. I found that same issue with a Windows-To-Go UFD (mounts as a Local Disk rather than a portable device). Other than that, I haven't heard of any issues...

    Regarding the issue of restoring isolated Windows partition (C: drive), we have made some improvements, please try the version below.

    @Hasleo - v3.0.2b221219, great job in early detection of broken backup chain prior to changing disk geometry... as a result, OS-only partition restoration went very smoothly and resulted in a fully operational System, even using pre-break image versions.

    I have a suggestion though... you use a WARNING msg during a partition restore in "partition Mode" that states, "All data on the selected drive will be destroyed. Are you sure you want to continue?" The msg is misleading... only the selected partition will be destroyed. You should change drive to partition and stop scaring us like that :D. That same msg is totally valid for a "Disk Mode" restore where, indeed, all the partitions will be destroyed in that mode.

    Actually as I think more about this... drive and partition are usually the same thing, it's DISK that's unique. I would choose what you think is best but make sure DISK is used when needed (like when using a "Disk Mode" restore).

    Keep up the great work!

    @Hasleo,

    In concert with @TheRollbackFrog's suggestion (above), please consider changing 'destroyed' to 'overwritten'. ;) ....and thanks for the cool freeware.

    @Hasleo

    Is Hasleo Backup in any way related to EaseUS?

    The interface, settings, backup and restore speeds, etc. are like those in EaseUS Backup.
    And, after a restore operation with EaseUS, I have to reactivate GOM Player Plus. The same is the case with Hasleo.

    I started an incremental backup and cancelled it. It left a 2 KB file in the backup folder. I started an incremental backup again, and it stated the image was corrupted. It successfully created the incremental backup when I deleted the 2 KB file from the backup folder.

    At the beginning of development, we mainly referred to the interface implementation of EaseUS and Aomei (we thought the Macrium Reflect's interface was too complicated for beginners), so its interface is very similar to EaseUS and Aomei. The principle of backing up the data of the partition is actually very simple, the program only needs to find out the data blocks that have been used by the file system, compress and encrypt the data and write it to the backup image file, so theoretically there should be no significant difference in backup efficiency under the condition of maximizing CPU utilization. Have you made a detailed comparison of backup efficiency between Hasleo and EaseUS? We just ran some simple tests and Hasleo seems to have a 10% performance advantage over EaseUS.

    Basically all backup programs use Microsoft VSS to snapshot the drive before backing it up, so a similar problem is possible, although this may also be related to the activation mechanism of GOM Player Plus, which requires further analysis.

    I'm very sorry that a recent code change introduced the issue, here is the fixed version.

    The GOM Player Plus issue doesn't happen with Macrium and Aomei.

    I use Macrium 8 Home, Aomei Backupper Pro, and EaseUS Workstation on different systems. I liked Hasleo; it's kind of the best of those three software packages in one.

    Hasleo is a little faster compared to EaseUS.

    Well, I've finished testing the offered features of this Backup Suite and as of now, they work very well (using the latest release from above <Build 221220>). I would suggest that any users with a serious interest in the product to "encourage" the Developers for feature extensions... examples: image MOUNTing and file extraction, more flexible scheduling options (GFS, etc.), maybe additional use of multi-cores/threads when image checking (if possible). This can be done here at Wilders as well as in the Hasleo Forum itself.

    The Developers have been very responsive, to date, to the issues discovered by our testing... I see no reason why they wouldn't respond accordingly, especially as they develop their product roadmap.

    Manual vs Scheduling: If I try and manually execute an INC or DIFF when the backup chain is unavailable, HBS offers a msg concerning a non-existant backup image. When I do the same as a scheduled operation, there is no msg and the app automatically creates the needed PARENT image (a FULL to begin the chain) instead.

    The result of the scheduled operation is excellent... what should be done in that case. I don't understand why the same thing isn't done for a manual operation... maybe with a msg informing the user of the anomaly and the result.

    Can I do an overinstall, or do I have to do a fresh install?

    I have done both without issue. unInstall/Fresh Install does not remove schedules/settings.

    It fixed the issue. Now Hasleo removes the cancelled full and incremental backups.

    I did a fresh install. A minor issue is that the "About" screen displays "Build Dec. 19, 2022" rather than "Dec. 20" as stated in the download link.

    Thanks wholeheartedly @Hasleo /\ Anticipation is climbing every new readjustment/release that improves it to a better solid reliable program. Keep up the excellence and your direct support is greatly appreciated.
