Are you active on MalwareTips? Perhaps you can bring up my issue about DUI not being able to display the correct status of WD, but only if WD re-enables the realtime protection. I consider this to be a bug.

I don't think DefenderUI does any scanning at all. It's only an improved UI for Microsoft Defender.

I don't know to be honest. I've never used DefenderUI. That's why I said, "I don't think...".

DefenderUI Pro causes the system to hangs because it fails to show its prompts sometimes, showing a blank one you can’t interact with, but can’t do anything either.

BTW, for what it's worth, after uninstalling both NeuShield and DefenderUI, I got rit of my problem with system.exe using 100% of the CPU, everytime the system was idle. So it was definitely one of them causing the problem, or perhaps both of them together, who knows.

Are you running 11 22H2? Pobably it's not the only issue. In that other security forum I saw some complaints about "almost everything has a slight delay" on 11 22H2. Apart from that Tamper Protection of Windows Defender will be disabled. That's why I prefer the app Configure Defender from Andy Ful.

After removing(Tuesday) DefenderUi 1.10, Windows 11 22H2 update not working, PC has been updated, Today 14.59, Definitie-Update, last 1.381.1720.0 Released on 1/4/2023 4:24:13 PM

Backup 1-1-2023, update works again.

 

Thanks so much, Dave!! I don't know if it's because of this or the Ultimate Performance plan or both; but my computer runs better now. I use this now combined a bit with the guide at https://0ut3r.space/2022/03/06/windows-defender/. ConfigureDefender might be more for those who don't have or don't want to fiddle with the Group Policy Editor. I found that any changes made by CD don't show up in GPedit. In any case, thanks again!! You've done a lot of work and I know it's appreciated. I just learned about this from the comments section on a recent Britec video on Youtube. It definitely helps!!
