This is the 6th release of version 106. Each major version only has a 4 week lifespan. o_O

If you downloaded RC2 you can't update because you already have it. You can reinstall but don't need to.

    Edited:

Regarding the issue of Firefox randomly freezing, occasionally, as mentioned earlier [1], [2],
seemingly affecting a subgroup of users,
that issue will be fixed in Firefox 108, see:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1781167#c107 -->
    https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-beta/rev/4e82f05470f1

One report seemed to indicate the patch may not fix the bug:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1781167#c103 -->
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1802229
However, that report that indicated the patch may not fix the bug, may be specific for Arch based distros that update rapidly:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1802229#c6
Other reports indicate the patch does fix bug 1781167:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1802229#c7
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1802229#c8

    Dear Firefox,

    You have that button "FORGET."
    It says, "Delete recent cookies."
It means, if I push the button to DELETE COOKIES, the cookies must be deleted!

There is a button for Clear History.
If I checkmark "Delete Everything, delete cookies", the cookies must be deleted!
    Now.
After I've repeated several times the Forget and Clear Recent History (cleaning history) procedures with settings - CLEAN EVERYTHING,
why do I find NUMEROUS COOKIES on my computer?
If I ask FIREFOX to delete COOKIES, I don't want to be some "expert" to find out that the cookies are still there and follow me everywhere!
    WTF!

Brave is removing EVERYTHING, including cookies when I push, "Clear Browsing Data!"

    Here is what's more.
When I delete the cookies from my "Settings", I still have the following:

Which with software? If Firefox shows Zero, then its Zero!

if you speak about ccleaner - cleaner is a very very dumb software and show its cumulative history. and you forgot that such cleaners always show cookies from all browsers, so programs using IE engine or Edge may set cookies behind even if you dont opened such browsers.

if it seems that firefox do not delete cookies between two calls of that dialog, you should refresh/reload
about:preferences#privacy again, its not updated after deletion. if cookies re-appear then they are real, this could mean by extension, by service-worker, by firefox updates requests.

it also can be that your cookies.sqlite is damaged, this mostly happens when external stupid cleaners work on it. dont do it, let firefox manage its data, nothing else.

This morning, I went to one web-site and logged in.
Later, I cleaned my Firefox with "Forget" button - Delete all 24 hours - and with Firefox Clean History - Clean EVERYTHING.
When later I re-visited the same web-site, I was still logged in.
    How is it possible?
It's Firefox with the strictest privacy settings and after several deletions of Browsing history.
Several times, I've repeated the usual browsing history deletion procedures but to no avail.
I decided to check if I still have cookies via Settings - Privacy, and, YES, no cookies were deleted.
It clearly showed to me that my Firefox "Forget" and History deletion buttons were not working; therefore,
I have manually deleted those cookies from all of the web-sites visited and saved by Firefox on my computer.
I've refreshed my Firefox and opened "Manage Data" in Privacy Settings.
It showed zero cookies, but the storage bites were there. The cookie timestamps were also there.
    In short.
For what ever reason Firefox did not follow my commands to delete all cookies, it's NOT GOOD!

Everything was deleted after I've closed Sandboxie and deleted its contents with Privazer.

Thanks for the warnings; I sometimes have this also. I also use Sandboxie's auto-delete but not sure how this is done--whether it's using its own delete mechanism or Firefox's. I have to use HiBit's junk files cleaner myself occasionally to clear out the remnants after the auto-delete (always like 11-15 MB remaining).

Did a quick search but nothing recent about this that I could see (v. 107).

A few hours later, I'm trying to recreate the same situation with Firefox, but this time, the "Forget" button is cleaning all my cookies.
