    @Sampei Nihira
    I saw in your post # 73 that uBO shows that FF was connected only to 2 of 51 domains. That's an excellent result. I wouldn't worry too much about the number of blocked requests.
    You may assume that the two connected domains belong to fastcompany.com.

    I assume that result varies over time probably because the web page changes its content.:(

    I entered Next DNS (DOH) in Firefox as well.

    I therefore advise forum members who get in FastCompany a total number of blocked trackers/ads much lower than 69 to take action.[/QUOTE]

    The fastest and most simple action is to enable medium mode in uBO on well known tracking sites (such as FastCompany). Now and then you have to make a NOOP-rule, e.g. when you want to view an embedded video.

    In a few months, there will no longer be a medium mode in UBO minus for almost all users of Chrome-based browsers.

    Will other, similar, extensions like and NoScript continue to function? DJ NoScript is a reincarnated, updated, version of SafeScript, and has worked very well for me.

    So don't use them anymore. Or use Chromium-based browers like Brave or Vivaldi which will still support MV2. Although Firefox is certainly the better alternative, IMO.

    We don't know what Vivaldi will do with MV3. They're been suspiciously silent on the whole thing for a very long time.

    I am sorry to leave Edge.
    But I have a need for a Chrome-based browser.
    I will decide when the whole thing is clearer.

    I doubt it but if they develop an MV3 version it may not and probably won't work as well. Ongoing problems: no more background page, issues re: communication with content script, webRequest listeners, service workers bug, etc.

    Edge is chromium-based, just like google chrome. Personally i use ungoogled chromium. But if you don't want to compile it yourself, you have to use someone else's build, like the one here chromium.woolyss.com

    Chromium/Chrome is less secure than Edge in Windows OS.

    It doesn't really matter, especially not for a home user. You can run your double vm isolated with vbs and whatever other stuff you can find, but there is no need, just keep your browser version up to date use ublock origin and you will be just fine.

    Also all these security protections or whatever come at a performance cost

    It's good to each have our own convictions.
    You have yours,I have mine.

    Well the other thing is that edge is privacy unfriendly (microsoft is barely better than google), whereas ungoogled chromium is rather privacy-friendly

    Someone has tried to unmicrosoft edge https://www.reddit.com/r/edge/comments/rvumg1/unmicrosofted_edge_block_tracking_in_microsoft/ but this is just a little bit of the whole picture, compared to the numerous people working on ungoogled chromium and numerous enhancements https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftEdge/comments/r6ix4y/unmicrosofted_edge/

    I did some testing again in Fastcompany.com:

    10.jpg

    Firefox + UBO
    UBO = 24 blocks
    FF = 15 trackers + 2 other types of blocks

    2.jpg

    Edge + UBO:

    UBO = 14 blocks
    Edge= 18 trackers

    1.jpg

    Edge + AdGuard MV3:

    AdGuard MV3 = 23 blocks
    Edge = 13 trackers

    3.jpg

    Edge + UBO Lite

    UBO Lite = 26 blocks
    Edge= 12 trackers

    4.jpg

    The website is too changeable.
    It is possible to get slightly different values with more tests over time.

    The interesting result is that UBO Lite equals in performance AdGuard MV3.

    P.S.

    If we consider only the blocks obtained interesting it would seem that UBO Lite and AdGuard MV3 in Chromium-based browsers perform better than UBO (at least with the lists I use).

    The number of blocks obtained from UBO Lite/AdGuard MV3 installed in Edge are similar to those obtained in UBO installed in Firefox.
