A new version was released to invited users as an alpha in April as 2.4.406. It went beta as the still current 2.4.440 as of around July 27. Including me, there are about 1100 testers at this time.

Version 2.4 beta went to 3.0 beta some weeks ago.

    Finally! The official release.

Here the "customer portal" is called out as the Management Console. Click on the other pretty little pictures for more info on the new features.

The Anomaly Detection feature and GlassWire Score features are dependent on creating a portal account.

Since they seem to be bought by another company I'm also interested how they will handle the "lifetime" licenses.
They changed the original post, but if you read between the lines of the replying user comments you can get the picture.

Well, even though in GW itself I blocked the GlassWire Control Service (gwctlsrv.exe) which presents the warning, "Check our download page for important security updates. GlassWire is blocked and may be out of date," with Unblock and Check for updates buttons, my beta 3.0.445 updated itself to the 474 release.

I ignored the create account message and logged in to the one I had been using during the beta test. The endpoint for that system continues as Legacy-Elite.

I installed 3.0.455 over 2.3.449 on my ancient i5-2430 Win7 laptop. No issues. History going back to 12/30/2015 and all settings retained. Shows as Legacy-Elite in the portal.

    I see Katie_GlassWire responded: https://forum.glasswire.com/t/v3-update-licence/14151/20

Unknowingly (regarding these changes), I installed over the top, and created an account.

I also have an Elite license, now shows in top left hand corner. We can only hope. Corporate ownership doesn't bode well though.
I love Glasswire, but EUR 24 / 40 for 1 / 2 Premium endpoints would be pricey on my exchange rate!

Good news indeed. Let's hope the new owners, whoever they are, prove trustworthy. :thumb:

    OK!

All five of my systems got updated to v3.0.474 from v2.3.449 and all represent correctly in the console as Legacy-Elite. No issues; all configs/settings/data saved.

Oddly, two of the systems updated themselves. My E8400 Win10 Pro which was running the beta and my i5-2430 Win7 Home Premium, both performing the update when the systems were brought out of hibernation.

The other three needed the v3.0 setup.exe for installing over v2.3. Prior to that, I restarted the systems and waited about an hour for each; v2.3.449 just sat there.

Interesting that only 33 out of 1770 GW users are using Microsoft Network Realtime Inspection Service (nissrv.exe). Compare that to 1286 out of 1770 for Windows Defender SmartScreen.

There were a little less than 1100 beta testers, so it would appear that almost 700 users have upgraded and are logged in.

UPDATE: GW v3.0 users at 2187 and climbing fast.

BTW One can login to the portal at any time on a browser and log out without disturbing the endpoint(s) or one's account data/status. The US1 region address is
    https://portal-us-east-2.protect.glasswire.com/
and there's another address for the EU1 region which is I don't know.

    Cheers.

That would explain why they never seemed to understand that I complained when GW had silently blocked nissrv.exe after a reboot (without user interaction).

By this you mean Microsoft Network Realtime Inspection Service got moved from Active Apps to Blocked Apps?

The last version of nissrv.exe (currently 4.18.2210.6 on the system I'm using now) that could be toggled was 4.18.2101.9, having a generic icon. Following versions of nissrv.eve received the "kernel" icon and a "can't be blocked" OK dialogue box. Which version of GW v2.x that implemented that can be discovered if anyone cares to dig into that.

Since this system was updated yesterday, what I have is today's v3 data for nissrv.exe which is so far 9.5/175.9 KB U/D of traffic with cloudapp.azure.com. That's typical of the traffic observed in v2 over the years. Traffic for nisserv.exe on my other four systems is not blocked.

Anyhow, I just found the ratio interesting vs that of SmartScreen and not a scrutiny of any issue because Microsoft Defender Antivirus Network Inspection Service can be disabled for those with privacy/telemetry concerns. So, it stands to reason those who do that would do so for SmartScreen.

Yes that's what I ment. They had no "kernel" Icon back then and GW moved it to Blocked Apps after a reboot (without asking) on my pc.

So GlassWire has new developers? From what I understood the new owner of GW has also bought SpyShelter.

No, it wouldn't explain that. The user data is collected and presented whether or not the exe is blocked, active or inactive areas.
    aCapture002683.jpg
That reminds me, I need to flag that as untrusted. :D Everything in Blocked Apps was put there by yours truly.

Early last year there was one user at the forum reporting on the issue which seemed to be related to startup timing, easy enough to troubleshoot especially by someone who can use the bork-o-matic Hard_Configurator. The user has a hidden profile so I can't find if they generated any more on the subject. Anyhow, the mod replied, "Thanks for these details so we can investigate."

A search on nissrv turned up only five more unrelated threads.

I've never seen the issue on any of my five systems running GW since 2015.

No sense in beating a dead horse any further. Cheers.

Bang, bang...updated twice in the space of 15 minutes, and no reboot necessary, and I don't have a Glasswire account.

Glasswire_2 updates in quick succession earlier today_01.JPG

P.S. I have the Elite lifetime version.
P.P.S. On another laptop, I am still running v2.3.449 Elite version.

I just checked, and I clicked on management console [that is new], in the GUI. I have to create, and or log in to an account.

So, I don't know if it is necessary, and/or benefit, since I have the Elite version. Do I gain anything in function/protection?
