I had a former neighbor of mine call me from Missouri where she is a college student. (I'm in Hawaii,) She called because her laptop still uses Windows 7 & she knows I am familiar with that OS. Her mouse died so she wanted to know a way to shut down her computer using just the keyboard. I told her to use Windows Key>Right Arrow>Enter. It worked. NOTE: I found this keyboard sequence by trial & error one day when a glitchy app grabbed a big bunch of cpu & wouldn't let go, so my mouse became next to useless. Q-1: Will that same keyboard sequence cause Windows 10 & 11 to shut down? (...just in case I ever get asked) Q-2: Is there a keyboard sequence that can cause a RESTART instead of an orderly shut-down?
You can use Alt+F4 on desktop (the same one you can use to close active application). 1. On Windows 11 if you want to shutdown from start menu you have to use: Windows key - 4 times Tab - 3 times Right Arrow and then Enter 2. Use Alt+F4 and then use Down key to change Shutdown to Restart and Enter
