    Installed Plus over the top. No issues so far.
    Edge and Vivaldi running ok and no problem recovering downloads.

    Looks like someone has been scribbling in red pencil over the box icons in the UI :D (I know it means box is set to auto delete)

    You can copy the Certificate.dat from your plus installation into the installation folder of the classic installation and the reminder should be gone.

    This latest version also does not work with the latest ESET antivirus (see signature for version). I cannot start any program in the sandbox. The process starts, but after a few seconds all processes close. I have already posted details in the previous version's topic.

    Can you do anything about it?

    Updated internally (very convenient) to 1.5.3. and still had to come here to find out what this new red mark on the default box icon is. OK, so it's the indicator for Auto Delete. Now I know. :)

    Running Defender on here--no problems so far. Firefox v. 106.0.5

    Have you tried to disable ESET’s Banking & Payment protection? Or at least the “Secure all browsers” option?

    Sadly, this issue was not addresses and is still present for me. I know it affects others, like @busy too. :(

    Yes, of course. I've tried many settings (e.g. disabling ESET protection completely), but only uninstalling ESET helps.

    @DavidXanatos, I guess I assumed you were some genius cyborg-type person, like Lt. Cmdr. Data. I'll wait.

    Such an eviscerating riposte. With all due respect, I'm going to write that down for permanent recall for future verbal and written dialogues. And thanks for the updated version. Gotta see if the newest version of "+" still buggers my FVD Speed Dial extension with Vivaldi.
    And of course, in context, no biggy... :shifty:

    I have installed to the latest sandboxie on windows 10 machines, this is a fresh install of windows 10 and I get an error as below in Edge:

    we could not verify the certificate: reason = error

    I also get this error in firefox with it downloaded from the web but also with firefox installed from the windows store

    I am running bitdefender but I have already ticked both the Edge compatibility and Bitdefender options in the settings area.

    Any ideas what could be causing these issues please? I also have the same issue on another windows 10 machine running Bitdefender but this was not a fresh install of windows 10 so thought it would be easier to troubleshoot on this machine.

    Thanks

    From my perspective all looking very good so far.

    Excellent work as it seems. Many thanks for that new update.

    Hi David!

    I have a couple of questions and whatnot, I hope you can answer me. :)

    After the update from the old SBIE 5.33.6 to the latest classic SBIE 5.60.3 on a Windows 10 x64 system, my Sandboxie.ini file changed like so:

    1. Template=Edge_Fix - This line was added after the update, what does it do? BTW, MS Edge on my PC crashes when run sandboxed (same was happening with the old SBIE version too).
    2. ConfigLevel=9 - This line was changed after the update, before update it was ConfigLevel=7. What does this change?
    3. Template=SkipHook - This line was added after the update, what does it do?
    4. Template=FileCopy - This line was added after the update, what does it do?
    5. One line was removed after the upgrade, before it was Template=WindowsFontCache. What did that do before (in the old version)?

    6. An additional question: "Allow direct access to Mozilla Firefox phishing database" - Is it better/safer to have this enabled or disabled (and why)?

    7. I can see the weird letter before the Copyright (c) sign in the About Sandboxie, does everyone see that or just me? In the old SBIE version there was no such letter:

    Thank you, that's all (for now at least). :) The latest 5.60.3 classic version seems to be running well, so thank you very much for maintaining and developing Sandboxie!

    Hi Mr.X, thank you. I've seen that description before but am interested in knowing what do those levels mean, what's the difference between the 7, 8 and 9.

    Another question for David: should it be possible to install MSI packages sandboxed now? It was impossible to do in the old 5.33.6 version. I tried with the 5.60.3 version but got an error:

    I tried installing this MSI package:
    https://www.exemsi.com/downloads/packages/SumatraPDF/SumatraPDF-2.1.1-install.msi

    Again, thank you!

    @Bellzemos

    1. Edge_Fix is Microsoft Edge compatibility workaround. Without it you can't open web pages in MS Edge. (What security software are you using?)

    Code:
    [Template_Edge_Fix]
    # SBIE fix for Windows 11 KB5014019 update (May 2022)
    Tmpl.Title=#4342,Microsoft Edge
    Tmpl.Class=WebBrowser
    Tmpl.Url=https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge
    Tmpl.Scan=s
    Tmpl.ScanProduct=Microsoft Edge
    Tmpl.ScanService=edgeupdate
    ExternalManifestHack=msedge.exe,y
    # SBIE fix for MS Edge 106.x also for Windows 10
    OpenIpcPath=msedge.exe,\Sessions\*\AppContainerNamedObjects\*
    OpenFilePath=msedge.exe,\Device\NamedPipe\Sessions\*\AppContainerNamedObjects\*
    # SBIE fix for MS Edge WebView2
    ExternalManifestHack=msedgewebview2.exe,y

    2. Automatically inserts or deletes settings based on ConfigLevel version.

    Code:
       if (cfglvl < 8)
       {
           // templates L8
           InsertText("Template", "FileCopy");
           InsertText("Template", "SkipHook");
       }

       if (cfglvl < 9)
       {
           // fix the unfortunate typo
           if (GetTextList("Template", false).contains("FileCppy"))
           {
               InsertText("Template", "FileCopy");
               DelValue("Template", "FileCppy");
           }

           DelValue("Template", "WindowsFontCache");

           // templates L9
           if (GetBool("DropAdminRights", false) == false)
           {
               // enable those templates only for non hardened boxes
               InsertText("Template", "OpenBluetooth");
           }
       }

       SetNum("ConfigLevel", 9);

    3. SkipHook: "Function hooking customizations"
    "removed hardcoded SkipHook list in favour of templates"

    Code:
    [Template_SkipHook]
    Tmpl.Title=#3460
    Tmpl.Class=Misc
    SkipHook=DragonSaga.exe,ntqsi,enumwin,findwin
    SkipHook=BatmanAC.exe,enumwin,findwin
    SkipHook=PotPlayer64.exe,cocreate
    SkipHook=PotPlayerMini64.exe,cocreate
    SkipHook=mpc-hc64.exe,cocreate

    4. FileCopy: "Default exclusions File Migration presets"

    Code:
    [Template_FileCopy]
    Tmpl.Title=#4295
    Tmpl.Class=Misc
    DontCopy=*.url
    CopyEmpty=*\microsoft\windows\explorer\thumbcache_*

    5. WindowsFontCache is now open by default.

    Code:
    [Template_WindowsFontCache]
    Tmpl.Title=Allow direct access to Windows Font Cache
    Tmpl.Class=Misc
    OpenIpcPath=*\BaseNamedObjects*\FontCachePort

    7. Same here

    MSI: Try add following rule to the your box config:
    Code:
