Putting you on a block list leaves them still having it. It also confirms it if they had it and gives it to them if they actually didn't. It seems like a futility to even try to be "removed".

I only use Facebook for Marketplace, once in a blue moon. I've never given out any phone number to them or to any other Facebook sellers on Marketplace and the e-mail I opened the account with is an obscure web e-mail without my real name. I only access it using a home computer, not on a smart phone. Never use 2-factor authentication. Hopefully, I'm better than average privacy-wise with them.

USA still the best. But barely.

I believe it. I have already been an identity theft victim. Pretty sure it was an employee of one of my creditors. They all have enough info to do it all over again. Anyone that has enough info to run your credit report has enough info to commit fraud.

For USA folks about the best you can do is to FREEZE all your credit files. I did that years ago and so far no issues.

Does this also belong to other META services? Or FB only?

Page has two options. First for Facebook and Messenger combined. Second for Instagram. I've gone through page two times to remove it from those services.
    I don't see a field for WhatsApp, so I don't know.

I don't agree. In extremely rare instance you are giving them very limited information that there is a phone number and that's it. You don't need to upload ID/driving license, nor photo, nor authenticate via payment. They are not even asking you to state your name.
The only thing they somewhat can combine information are typical technical data that you gave up every time you visit any web page including Wilders: mainly your current IP address (which isn't permanent in the long run) and 3rd-party browser cookies, maybe more advanced stuff like fingerprinting. I used Tor Browser to request delete of my phone number. Service told me that they had my number already, which was foreseeable.
By foreseeable I mean you probably can suspect that based on how your friends and family use devices and their attitude towards privacy.

...and you still trust the block list?

I don't trust it 100%, but if they hidden it that deep it means that it probably does something.

I don't have nothing to lose, because I strongly suspected my phone number was here anyway.
I wouldn't sent them my ID, address, or real name. Fortunately they don't require it.
