    It says 32-bit in Sandboxie's About window and 64-bit version wouldn't even install on a 32-bit Windows.

    It`s just the WoW64 bit in the error message, that`s for 32-bit apps on 64-bit windows...Hopefully that can at least help find why you`re getting this error.

    Good luck

    p.s. I just checked the 2 downloads (32 and64-bit) and they are different...

    Hi David. I noticed you added (I am using 5.60.1) a long button to click and update to Plus and placed it under the X (to close Sandboxie control). Where it is now it is very easy to click it by mistake when moving the mouse over to close SBIE Control. Perhaps you could give me a Template to place in Global settings to get rid of the button. Or perhaps you could move the button to the left so it becomes harder to click by mistake. I know sooner or later I will click it in error. I don't know if the Window that opens up when clicking the button (or if there is a window that opens up), but regardless, please give the option to cancel before it installs or changes anything. There is an option for moving to Plus under Help, perhaps this button in Sandboxie Control is redundant.

    Hi bo, when you click on it you just get a window like this:
    upload_2022-11-1_14-6-17.png

    which opens a browser and ultimately gets you currently to https://sandboxie-plus.com/downloads/

    So the risk of updating accidentally is pretty much non existent, it requires multiple clicks a download and then starting the downloaded installer by hand.

    Get a certificate, the reminder should show only every couple months so should not be to anoying, if you get it more often than we have a bug

    @DavidXanatos, could you look into this issue for me? I still cannot launch Ashampoo Office documents from Explorer, even with a brand new sandboxie.ini.

    @n8chavez Does it work for you if you use Right click > Run Sandboxed.
    For me documents do not open when force program is defined.

    Oh yeah, actually, that method works! Interesting. I'd still prefer it to work normally, but at least there's a work-around until this gets fixed. Thanks!

    I now there is a new version but first I need to delete contents!!

    SBIE PLUS 1.4.2

    Windows 10 21H2 (OS Build 19044.2130)

    What I am doing wrong?
    Came
    Could be the problem was I had checked the FF option: "Use a background service to install updates"?
    05SBIE.jpg

    I still do not understand what is this?

    I'd have thought the background process would be running on your windows system not in the sandbox, but yes, if it's running in the sandbox then it could prevent the sandbox from emptying. Do you have Firefox set as a leader program?

    This just means that a file larger than your setting under 'General Options > File Options: Copy file size limit' is being copied into your sandbox - although I thought CatRoot2 was for Windows system updates so I wouldn't have thought you should be seeing those in a Firefox sandbox.

    Typically it's cache files that are copied into the sandbox, but depending on what you're doing other files also make there way there. I use Sandboxie-Plus to containerise various applications, and to limit the size of the sandbox I use the setting:
    Code:
    WriteFilePath=%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
    which stops the relatively large windows icon cache from being copied into the sandbox, instead a new much smaller one is created (2MB instead of 28.2MB currently), which isn't really a lot, but when most of the apps I'm sandboxing are less than 50MB it annoys me....unnecessarily :)

    Firefox backgrund service for updates - to read!
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-background-updates-firefox-windows

    does not work inside sandboxie, need maintenance service, does also not work inside sandboxie!
    at least firefox need to be installed and used outside sandboxie to perform both.

    And Edge has same background service, nothing to hate, also Edge has to be current to avoid security breaches. edge updates do not work inside sandboxie.

    Ok, seems I'm late to the party - but this is actually a good sign because it means that so far I haven't run into major problems with v.1.5.2.

    Things changed a little when last week I was invited to upgrade Roboform-password-manager to v.9.3.7.7. This meant at the same time an upgrade of the associated browser-extension to v.9.3.6.0.

    Still all working fine with my "production browser" Opera.

    One day later came an upgrade of "standby browser" Firfox to v.106.0.5 (64-bit). All that on a Win_10_for_workstations_64bit_22H2-system.

    Now I don't know if it has to do anything with latest Sbie-plus-v.1.5.2 or if the phenomenon to be described would have also occurred with an earlier Sbie-version - or which one exactly of these most recent software-upgrades might have started this issue. But - long story short - since these upgrades the Roboform-extension no longer works in Firefox. In fact the Roboform-extension-icon is greyed-out in the extensions-icon-bar and neither logging into Roboform nor assistance with passwords is accessible.

    Needless to say, on a Win10-system "FirefoxHack1=n" didn't remedy the issue and nor was allowing full-access to Firefox-profile-folder in the templates-section of Sbie of any help. So why am I certain that this phenomenon has anything to do with Sbie at all?

    Well, under latest Opera the upgraded Roboform-tandem (program + browser-extension) works as it should and without any issues and also in Firefox everything will integrate fine as well - unfortunately only as long as Firefox together with its Roboform-extension are started outside of Sbie, that is.

    If you set Firefox as a Leader program (Stop Behaviour > Leader Programs) then when the last Firefox process terminates Sandboxie-Plus will terminate any other existing processes that remain in that sandbox that could be causing the sandbox not to empty.

    I've never had to use this functionality but others have reported to use it to solve the situation you describe.

    Thanks a lot "APMichael" for pointing out this already ongoing discussion about that topic.

    Unfortunately the "workaround"-line given there didn't do the trick with my installation. Reason probably is that
    ReadFilePath=firefox.exe,*\Program Files (x86)\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\*,
    - while it exists on my system - is an empty directory.

    My Roboform is installed in C:\WINTOOL\Roboform\ which again has no "Siber Systems" or "AI RoboForm" SubDir. So I've done a system-wide search with the result that an "AI RoboForm"-SubDir, in particular with any content, doesn't exist ANYWHERE ELSE in my Dir-structure either to point a "ReadFilePath="-statement to.

    Unfortunately adding a more general
    ReadFilePath=firefox.exe,*\WINTOOL\RoboForm\*
    statement didn't help in remedying the issue either. So I'm not sure about that "workaround" but thanks again for pointing to that github-thread anyway.

    Not actively using Sandboxie at the moment, just popped in here, but strange ... I use Roboform and I definitely have: C:\Program Files (x86)\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\*. No C:\WINTOOL\Roboform\.

    It seams that firefox starting with 106.x for whatever reason requests GENERIC_WRITE on plugin executable, that breaks roboform and others as it triggers a file migration, build 1.5.3 will contain a workaround for firefox to drop the flag when opening exe files existing on the host.
